Position Summary

The position is full time, 40 hours/week, and remote in North Carolina . It requires proficiency in delivering telephonic coaching and group coaching (via a web-based virtual platform such as Webex), which will be evaluated during the interview process.

Work schedule:

Monday-Friday: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm EST; 3 set days a week along with 2 set evening shifts per week from 12:30-9:00 pm EST

Weekends: Rotating late Friday until 9 pm EST. (typically every 4-6 weeks) and rotating Saturdays are required, per business needs, (typically every 4-6 weeks)

The Wellness/Health Coach utilizes a collaborative process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to engage, educate, and promote members in decisions related to achieving and maintaining optimal health status. The goal is to help members achieve a healthy lifestyle and behaviors that align these lifestyle behaviors with individual wellness goals.

  • The coach will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of member’s health status and risk with use of clinical tools and information along with data review.

  • By assimilating health assessment data analysis, they will establish a plan of care based on member’s health status, risks, education level, and support needs.

  • Motivational interviewing skills are required to ensure maximum member engagement and promote lifestyle and behavior changes to achieve optimum level of health.

  • Utilizing interviewing and active listening skills you will provide coaching and support to empower the members to make ongoing independent healthy lifestyle choices.

  • Develops and monitors established plans of care, in collaboration with the member to meet the member’s goals.

  • Follows internal policy and procedure in compliance with regulatory and accreditation guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of health and wellness coaching experience required

  • Require bachelor’s degree in health-related field (e.g., Health ed, Wellness, Health Promotion)

  • Certification in health and wellness coaching

  • Experience facilitating health/wellness presentations both in person and virtually

  • Experience in wellness related areas such as weight management, tobacco cessation, stress management, nutrition, physical activity, or health lifestyle behavior change

  • Advanced knowledge of computer skills including MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people, use good judgment in challenging situations

  • Ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people individually as well as in a group setting, and able to navigate challenging situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer Master's degree in Public Health, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, or other health areas, but not required

  • Background in motivational interviewing, active listening skills, Transtheoretical Model, mindfulness, and other evidence-based coaching techniques preferred

  • Possesses a Tobacco Treatment Coaching Certification

  • 1-3+ years of experience with medical documentation in EMRs, especially Epic

  • Certification from National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $91,800.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
