Maintenance- Quincy, IL
This is a full-time hourly position.
The Maintenance Mechanic performs a wide variety of maintenance work to maintain equipment and facilities. Skills acquired through advanced training and licenses may be used in performing this work.
Must obtain forklift license, and use pallet handling equipment to move equipment and materials as needed.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
Repair, rebuild, install and align product transfer equipment (pumps, augers, conveyors, etc.)
Cut, grind, and weld materials as needed.
Safely rig equipment.
Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
Document completed work, equipment findings, and parts information as required.
Maintain personal tools and shop areas in a neat and clean condition.
Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements cited below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education/Training & Experience — A high degree of mechanical competence supported by completion of a recognized apprenticeship, a degree from a relevant technical college or trade association, a Certificate of Qualification, and/or equivalent work experience is required.
Language Skills – Ability to read and communicate effectively is required. Must be able to interpret work instructions, formulate plans, and express ideas and concerns effectively to co-workers, maintenance personnel and supervisors. Log all incidents and actions taken in a clear and concise method. Ability to read and write at a grade 12 level preferred.
Mathematical Skills — Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide 4 digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight (pounds, kilograms), percentages, or fractions. Grade 12 mathematics proficiency preferred.
Reasoning Ability — Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions. Ability to remember and prioritize multiple job tasks. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Temperature and humidity conditions in the work area can vary from temperatures ranging from 65 degrees F up to or exceeding 100 degrees, and very humid (near or over 80%) to ultra-low humidity (less than 40%).
Outdoor work may be required and is subject to extreme hot and cold temperature conditions
Manufacturing processes are highly reliant on machines and as a result, noise levels can reach up to 115 decibels requiring the use of hearing protection for most of the day.
Some jobs or tasks require working at heights
Some tasks require entry into confined spaces
Some of these tasks require entry for extended periods of time
Employees will be required to wear plastic gloves while performing duties involving potential direct contact with the product
Personal protective equipment (such as safety glasses, boots, or gloves) must be worn per company work rules
Employee must be available to work weekend hours as needed
Employee is required to stand and reach with arms and hands, as a regular occurrence
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently and consistently be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Overtime - Overtime assignments may be required on a limited basis depending upon operational needs.
