Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor- Drama, Theatre & Dance Job ID 25925 Location Queens College Full/Part Time Regular/Temporary Regular FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Drama, Theatre elop and oversee (direct) an Undergraduate and Graduate Dance Education Program.We welcome a teacher and artist working in dance forms of the African diaspora who embraces 21st century approaches and interdisciplinary perspectives. We value an individual with established relationships with the professional field nationally and internationally; and who isa visionary educator, artist, administrator that can work alongside existing faculty. The individual will act as a liaison for the Dance Program, the Queens College School of Education, the New York City Department of Education and the New York State Education Department. This is a full-time (9 mo.) tenure-track appointment. Workload for the position will consist of program administration, developing new courses, and teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels such as Dance Pedagogy, Somatics, Contemporary Issues in Dance and Dance Education, Seminar on Dances of the African Diaspora, Beginner-to-Advanced African Diasporic Dance Technique (which can include one or more of the following:African dance, Afro-Latinx, Caribbean forms, Afro-fusion techniques, Hip-Hop, Jazz), as well as advisement of students. QUALIFICATIONS Graduate Degree in Dance, Dance Education, or equivalent Extensive experience in curriculum development Prior teaching experience in Pre-K-12 A minimum of two years of experience in teaching at the college level A complete application Preferred Qualifications Experienceworking in dance forms of the African diaspora Familiarity with the NYC DOE and NYC Blueprint for Dance/Pre-K-12 A commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice through their teaching and creative practice Experience in writing competitive grant proposals COMPENSATION Assistant Professor Salary Range: $72,667 - $93,134 Associate Professor Salary Range: $90,375 - $110,641 Professor Salary Range: $107,789 - $132,987 CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
