As York College implements college-wide strategic enrollment practices and engages in deeper and more intentional community partnerships, we are looking for a Recruitment Specialist to play a key role in the admissions recruitment process by developing interest in undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree programs by building relationships with prospective students through community events, information sessions, email and phone contacts and social media. Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, the Recruitment Specialist will increase visibility with community-based organizations and non-profit organizations, attend local community events, and enhance inquiry and applicant pools. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills, as well as an ability to foster positive relationships with traditional-aged college students and adults interested in returning to school. The incumbent will supervise a student-based marketing team and utilize the team at off-campus events. The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for supporting the Admissions recruitment plan by representing York College and engaging prospective students and families, both on and off campus. Position Duties and Responsibilities Develop a comprehensive understanding of the York College branding guidelines and the college marketing policies & procedures. Contributes new ideas to promote divisional programs, services, and events through in-person, print marketing tactics, divisional social media efforts, and assists in the executing of promotional campaigns. Represent the college through outreach efforts such as attending community-based events and building a marketing "street team". Supports the Administrative Coordinators within the Office of Student Affairs to coordinate and execute enrollment initiatives. Engages with participants at in-person events, including but not limited to: open houses, on and off campus events and other events as requested. Provides office assistance, which may include printing, mounting and promotional signs, and organizing promotional materials. Assists with the distribution and removal of divisional flyers across campus. Assists with other duties as assigned to support the day-to-day functions of the divisional efforts. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required. Two years of experiences preferred. Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills as well as strong writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong demonstration of using Adobe Photoshop, Video Recording and Editing Skills and Social Media Distribution. Strong computer and technical skills, with prior experience with CRM and student information systems. Ability to work independently and with a team Able to work a flexible and non-traditional schedule. CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Coordinates efforts of admissions and/or enrollment offices. Coordinates workshops, intake screenings, interviews and orientations for new students Counsels prospective applicants on requirements and standards and provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, e-mail or letter; conducts follow up as needed Assists in conducting open house sessions and orientations, including group sessions and programs at high schools and in the community at large Assists with day-to-day administration and an admissions or enrollment office, including scheduling and preparing and distributing materials Represents the Admission Office to the college's internal and external communities as directed Maintains and updates program databases, lists and files to ensure completeness and accuracy Performs related duties as assigned.
