MD Management Limited, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and client-focused Financial Planning Practice Lead to join our team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning Operations and Execution, as a Financial Planning Practice Lead, you will be accountable for the continuous improvement of overall client and Advisor experience as it relates to financial planning within MD. This includes training, coaching, and supporting Financial Consultants and Regional Managers to deliver best-in-class financial planning to drive business results.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • You will work closely with the Senior Manager – Financial Planning Operations and Execution and the rest of the Financial Planning Centre of Excellence, to develop and implement enterprise-wide financial planning initiatives and tools for Financial Consultants that support exceptional client value and experience, business growth and sales effectiveness.

  • While working closely with other members of the Financial Planning Centre of Excellence, you will support the development of training curriculums for delivery within the field for ongoing development of Financial Consultants (FCs),

  • You will partner with key stakeholders, including the Regional Heads, Regional Managers, and sales coaches to support the coaching and mentoring of FC staff on all aspects of the financial planning process.

  • You will support the training and orientation of new Financial Consultants and partner with Regional Managers and other coaches to provide training, support, coaching and mentoring of current Consultant staff.

  • You will provide reactive support to Financial Consultants with respect to financial planning while identifying opportunities to provide proactive support.

  • You will identify best practices and communicate/train to these for consistency across the regions.

  • You will assist with business planning and strategies related to financial planning delivery.

  • You will review the quantity and assess quality of financial plans in support of Financial Consultant charter metrics and the firm’s business objectives.

  • You will assist in the development of measures to monitor effectiveness of resources and processes and track against business results.

  • You will ensure adherence to professional standards, including policies, procedures and best practices, and professional codes of conduct related to client engagement, taking Scotiabank’s risk appetite and culture into consideration relative to day-to-day activities and decisions.

The Must Haves:

  • Demonstrated experience as a financial planner and/or client-facing Advisor.

  • University degree in business, commerce or equivalent experience related to the practice of financial planning.

  • Completion of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or the equivalent IQPF designation for Quebec residents.

  • Proven track record of training and coaching.

  • Ability to work non-standard hours.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Fluency in both English and French is required
