Service Source Unit Manager - Food Service in Quantico, Virginia

Job Summary

Direct all aspects of the Front of House (FoH) operations for the FBI Café, including supervision and management of employees. Ensure all materials, supplies, uniforms, and quality control of all work performed is being done in accordance with the contract. Schedule the Front of House staff while assisting with coverage for the satellite venues. Manage and monitor the performance of a staff of 60-70 employees to ensure adherence to all service standards and productivity standards to provide exceptional guest satisfaction.

Primary Duties

  • Ensure all work schedules, time-sheet corrections, and vacation requests are approved and coded correctly in Workday in accordance with policy for all front of house employees.

  • Routinely check food on serving lines and during meal periods to ensure the employees are recording temperatures in log, audit staff to ensure refrigeration temperatures and dish machine temperatures are recorded and finally maintain/inspect cafeteria supervisor’s quality control check lists.

  • Purchase all paper supplies, chemicals, uniforms and maintain a par level established by the General Manager as well as update inventories on all supplies and equipment as required.

  • Conduct interviews to maintain staffing levels to contractual requirements and ensure that all applicable training takes place for the FOH associates on a weekly, monthly and annual basis as needed and complete annual reviews for all the FOH employees.

  • Manage and motivate all FOH personnel through monthly, quarterly, and annual employee recognition programs to include coordination of all holiday celebrations and quarterly parties including work with Rehab and the van service to provide the needs for employees.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and monitor employee dress codes, according to policies and procedures, with a strong focus on providing exceptional and accurate customer service to both internal and external individuals.

  • Work directly with the Accounting Department on issues related to employee timesheets, time corrections, vacation requests, adding new employees to the time clock system, maintaining a call-out book for monthly auditing, and ensuring emergency contacts are up to date

  • Inspect to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards are consistently met and report maintenance issues to the QA and complete weekly inspections with corrective action plans as well as perform daily facility inspections.

  • Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude to all and promote positive relations through an environment that encourages open communications, trust, and mutual respect between your department, culinary and catering departments.

  • Organize multiple projects; manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ensure supervisors are posting the weekly forecast and post menus daily for the current meal and the next day meals and electronic menu boards are updated.

  • Report all program participant behavioral issues to the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist.

  • Back-fill Supervisors in the event of call outs or shortages and maintain an inclement weather team.

  • Before and after meal periods, audit cashiers and supervisors to ensure proper handling of cash procedures are followed.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • At least three (3) years of professional work experience effectively managing a high-quality commercial food and beverage establishment and operation preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word preferred

  • Working knowledge of food and labor cost controls required

  • ServSafe certification preferred

  • High school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or state education equivalent preferred

  • Valid driver’s license and good motor vehicle record (MVR) required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have the capability to obtain and maintain FBI Security Clearance.

  • Proficient in confident, clear, and professional written and verbal communications.

  • Skilled in navigating diverse work environments with a focus on client and customer service. Able to employ entrepreneurial strategies for business development and expansion.

  • Capable of effectively communicating with clients, customers, and support staff, and adept at responding to evolving demands.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in planning work schedules, delegating tasks, and providing or arranging necessary training.

  • Able to comprehend, adhere to, and enforce safety protocols and other procedures.

  • Possess strong organization skills.

Physical Demands
