Job Summary

The HR Digital Specialist plays a critical role in developing and executing in-house digital solutions that support HR, Black & Veatch’s business enablement functions and market sectors. This position will be responsible for collaborating with the HR Digital project manager, along with additional stakeholders to accept digital project requirements and then develop digital-based solutions that solve business needs. The ideal candidate will develop solutions from start to finish, applying agile development methodologies where possible.

Additionally, the HR Digital Specialist will partner closely with the HR Digital & People Analytics Director, HR team members, business leaders and CIO Office members. This individual should be creative and adaptable, flexible and detail oriented. This person must prioritize the user experience when developing solutions at all times. They will possess excellent technical skills in intranet site creation, site design, in-take form development, digital automation, custom digital solutions, and ad-hoc digital projects as needed. They should stay current on digital best-practices as well.

Key Responsibilities

HR / Business Support

  • Acts as technical developer from start to execution for digital solutions, including site builds for company’s intranet, custom automation, and more

  • Willingness to partner with project manager and business stakeholders to understand project scope and develop solutions to solve business needs

  • Interfaces with clients to present solutions and/or problem solve

  • Troubleshoots technical problems for current solutions, and solutions being developed, solving them and documenting the fixes

  • Demonstrates technical expertise when designing and executing digital solutions

  • Demonstrates ability to document successful technical processes so that the solution can be repeatable over time

  • Understands the importance of end user experience in all digital solution designs

  • Ensures quality of design through testing and validation of requirements met

  • Actively seeks to learn best practices to create the best experiences for end users

  • Provides training support or guides for use of new resources

  • Dedicates themselves to constant audit and security of information as well as auditing current processes to identify opportunities for automation and simplification

  • Develops and maintain inventory of HR Digital solutions

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of related experience required

Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience required

3-5years experience with digital development solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint)

Experience with editing and managing SharePoint Online resources and sites

Strong coding experience, including HTML, HTML5, Java, DAX, M, and JSON scripting preferred

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong work ethic with user-first mentality is a must

Driven to work autonomously with requirements in hand

Manages multiple projects simultaneously, but with the ability to prioritize client needs

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Manages complexity well including the ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail

Builds networks and relationships both internally and externally to participate in collaborative thinking

Strong Financial and business acumen

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent flexibility and multi-tasking ability through coordinating work efforts over numerous projects

Training Certificates:

Microsoft certifications - MCSA, MCSE, MCSD in SharePoint Online, Office365, and Power Platform

Microsoft certifications and training in Power BI preferred
