Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead Capacity Planning Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to scaling capacity planning operations for thousands of applications rapidly. As the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for hands-on development in Python, ClickHouse, MySQL, and managing Kubernetes clusters. You will build capacity planning models for thousands of enterprise applications and lead the replatforming of our capacity planning, FinOps, and predictive outage application, ECP 2.0. This role involves working closely with project managers, change management, creating progress reports, and stepping in during escalations to ensure seamless operations. Your work will help application teams, our customers, be prepared for peak season as well as run their applications and infrastructure efficiently and optimally year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical lead for the capacity planning team, driving the development and optimization of capacity planning models.
Lead the replatforming efforts for ECP 2.0, modernizing our systems to improve forecasting accuracy and optimize infrastructure usage.
Develop and maintain capacity planning applications using Python, ClickHouse, and MySQL.
Manage Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and scalability of capacity planning applications.
Utilize data modeling techniques to support capacity planning and performance optimization.
Create visualizations and dashboards using Tableau to provide insights and support decision-making.
Collaborate with project managers and change management teams to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
Generate progress reports and handle escalations to ensure seamless operations.
Reduce manual effort and enhance system reliability through automation and process improvements.
Ensure smooth coordination between technical teams and business stakeholders, delivering cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Document processes and solutions, providing clear guidelines and support for internal teams and customers.
Stay updated on the latest technologies and practices in capacity planning, performance optimization, and predictive analysis, continuously seeking ways to improve operations and contribute to innovation within the team.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to capacity planning applications, providing expert guidance and solutions to enhance performance.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in capacity planning, performance optimization, and predictive analysis.
Strong proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining capacity planning applications.
Expertise in ClickHouse for high-speed data storage and retrieval.
Experience with MySQL for database management.
Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters.
Experience with data modeling and using Tableau for creating visualizations and dashboards.
Strong analytical skills, with a focus on delivering actionable insights and improvements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
Experience with modern development tools and practices, including version control, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and agile methodologies.
Education
Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$106,605.00 - $213,210.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
