The Local Compliance Officer CZ&SK is responsible for managing the process of ensuring that core elements of an effective compliance program are implemented and working as designed.

The position requires legal background or several years of experience in compliance or data privacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and update compliance policies, procedures and processes and the compliance agenda of Global Compliance.

  • Assess and remediate compliance risk; areas of focus include anti-bribery / anti-corruption, third party management, data privacy, Teva’s Code of Conduct, and relevant industry codes.

  • Conduct compliance training as necessary or required and provide compliance tools and advice to management and employees.

  • Actively participate in local management team and local compliance committees, and contribute to various business projects from a compliance perspective

  • In a collaborative manner, implement, monitor and augment Teva’s Global Compliance program and policies, while embedding compliance into everyday business practices

  • Work with local management our both commercial units in Prague and Slovakia and our TGO site in Opava

  • Provide compliance advice so that business and function managers can make informed decisions about their projects and initiatives

  • Identify business and compliance risk areas, inefficient or ineffective business processes and work with management in a cross-functional approach to streamline such processes in a fully compliant manner.

  • Share best practices across the country operations and with the global compliance team.

  • Actively participate in local audits

  • Through regular communication, staff meetings and issuing appropriate periodic reports, inform regional and global compliance management of key issues and status of compliance program.

  • Participate in regular teleconferences or meetings at a local, regional or global level.

  • Working with local management and local functions, ensure that all employees are educated on Teva’s Code of Conduct, corporate requirements, and relevant SOPs.

  • Assist in the development, organization and implementation of global and local training programs and content as well as measuring the effectiveness of these programs.

  • Act as a catalyst for corporate initiatives in Global Compliance, and lead and oversee projects as necessary, such as business process improvement efforts.

Required experience

  • Education: A university education, in which studies in law or business management would be particularly helpful.

  • Experience: Two to three years of corporate experience in country operations. Pharmaceutical experience preferred. Experience in control functions such as regulatory, compliance, manufacturing quality, finance, law or audit is helpful.

  • Executive presence: The ability to advise management on complex issues objectively and confidently.

  • Relationship-building skills: The ability to interact effectively with colleagues having different languages, cultures, and customs.

  • Presentation skills: The ability to train different audiences with targeted communications.

  • Creative thinking: The ability to provide fully compliant solutions to business needs as they arise.

  • Fluent in English and Czech OR Slovak languages (speaking and writing)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Training and presenting skills to various audiences

  • High tolerance of ambiguity (industry changes are rapid and unexpected)
