Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Digital Employee Experience Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Technical Product Planning Owner.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development and success of our vehicle product planning digital solutions by bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. This role is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that the development team delivers high-quality vehicle products that meet customer needs and business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Reporting to the Digital Employee Experience Manager, the person in this role will support the Digital Employee Experience department's objective to foster innovative digital products supporting the delivery of class-leading mobility solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Product Vision & Strategy:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and articulate the product vision and roadmap.

  • Gather and prioritize product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.

  • Gain a strong working knowledge of business processes and data to best represent the desired business outcomes.

  • Technical Leadership:

  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear requirements.

  • Assist in the evaluation of technical feasibility and drive discussions on architecture and design.

  • Stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies and industry trends.

  • Product Development Practices:

  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

  • Lead agile development ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives as required to ensure effective communication

  • Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Customer First:

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product decisions and improvements.

  • Ensure that digital products meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of quality, performance, and usability.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or demonstrated equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner/Program Manager or in a similar role within a big tech or automotive industry

  • Proven experience with product management methodologies, preferably in an Agile/SCRUM context.

  • Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts as well as participate in design discussions and data analysis

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello)

  • PMP Certification
