Who we’re looking for

Toyota Financial Services/Mazda Financial Services' Dealer Lending Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Dealer Lending Analyst. This role is in Plano, TX.

This person is responsible for underwriting dealer credit packages for Toyota, Lexus, and Mazda dealers across the country. They will be evaluating multiple packages a month, with loan requests ranging from $1M-$100M+. Loan requests include floorplan lines of credit, real estate loans, working capital loans, and revolving lines of credit. They will be coordinating with field associates and dealership personnel in all aspects of the loan package request, providing an assessment of TFS/MFS collateral position including recommendations to strengthen position, as well as consulting with TFS/MFS legal, reviewing and maintaining Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and reviewing wholesale loan documentation.

Reporting to the Dealer Lending Manager, the person in this role will support the Toyota Financial Services/Mazda Financial Services Dealer Lending objective to maintain and service its commercial lending portfolio of loans.

What you’ll be doing

  • Perform financial analysis based on company prepared financial statements, tax returns, and CPA reviewed/audited financial statements in order to determine a commercial borrower’s financial wherewithal, including evaluating their, sales/profitability trends, liquidity, leverage, and capitalization.

  • Prepare and assess cash flow analyses for all proposed borrowers/loans.

  • Following financial, collateral, and guarantor analysis, prepare a credit package which outlines the risks associated with the respective credit request and provide recommendations to the appropriate approval authorities with relevant information to support conclusions.

  • Present completed credit requests to the appropriate approval authority, including credit committees.

  • Review legal structure to determine proper conclusions related to ownership, guaranties, and collateralization. For multi-franchise/corporation requests, consolidate the information into a cohesive, simplified version noting the inter-relationships and associated financial risks.

  • Review and analyze documentation related to loan approvals, including, but not limited to, organizational document reviews for LLCs, corporations, partnerships, etc. Document review to also include buy/sell agreements, real estate purchase agreements, intercreditor agreements, subordination agreements, etc.

  • Consult with TFS/MFS Legal to determine any corrections or modifications to documents or approvals to ensure TFS/MFS risk management goals.

  • Participate in internal projects relating to system enhancements and process improvements.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports per request from senior management.

  • Portfolio monitoring including sales, profitability, expense, and financial ratio trend analysis.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required or equivalent experience

  • Professional experience in financial analysis of commercial loan documents, to include complex organizational structures, cash flow analysis, industry standard financial ratios/covenants, and establishing loan collateralization

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience in underwriting expertise with automotive dealer borrowers

  • Presentation experience to a credit committee

  • Proficiency using Crowe Navigator

  • Experience with analyzing loan requests to ensure legal compliance and reach a conclusion as to risk position of the loan
