Who we’re looking for

The Private Label finance consultant will collaborate, influence, and challenge Private Label business stakeholders to make the best financial decisions for the company. They will provide financial analysis and appropriate profitability/productivity metrics for Private Label leadership and serve as key advisor to VPs and department heads of Private Label. Must possess analytical mindset to champion innovative ideas and breakthrough solutions.

This position requires the individual to have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of management. Strong finance background with FP&A experience and proven leadership ability will be essential to success. This role provides clarity and context around business drivers, financial and operational targets, and performance against targets. Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to verbally and visually present data, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations to senior management.

Role requires leading strategic business discussions for highly complex areas including periodic updates to Private Label executives on performance measurement. It will take a critical consultative role in leading and driving business requirements, business process design, planning system testing, and implementation for all future Private Label clients.

What you’ll be doing

Financial Planning and Analysis

Lead role in managing the FP&A function, especially the volume, margin, and consolidated planning, for Private Label businesses (including Mazda Financial Services, Bass Pro Financial Services, and any future clients). This includes ensuring alignment of business decisions with company strategic objectives:

  • Challenge assumptions, validate rationale, and identify risks and opportunities in the plan and forecasts. Integrate multiple views and perspectives into a consistent forecast narrative to clarify complex and involved situations.

  • Partner and collaborate with other FP&A groups and Private Label leaders to manage the development of short and long-range plan deliverables (monthly outlooks, quarterly TFSC forecasts, annual plan, 5-year plan).

  • Produce and enhance consolidated Private Label financial statements tailored to the various targeted audiences and their business needs to help optimize decision making. Drive executive-level discussions for recommendations.

  • Provide financial and analytical insight and guidance for business cases that fall within scope of responsibility.

Project Management

Partner on Private Label initiative to identify and drive solutions.

  • Lead the development of the financial planning, forecasting, and system implementation ensuring the planning systems capture the requisite data for future Private Label clients.

  • Develop and drive discussion with stakeholders to affect desired outcome on assigned projects.

  • Support the transitioning of MFS originations to Toyota Financial Savings Bank (TFSB) by acting as main liaison between FP&A teams.

Performance Measurement and Reporting

Lead role in measuring performance against established targets and communicating to relevant stakeholders.

  • Lead discussions with internal FP&A team leaders and senior executives.

  • Update monthly and quarterly P&L, balance sheet, and KPI reporting providing analysis at a consolidated as well as individual business level.

  • Develop new reporting and dashboards to assist in management’s understanding of the business environment.

What you bring

  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS]

  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry)

  • Solid financial and analytical skills

  • Experience/Aptitude for Microsoft Products, especially Excel and Powerpoint

  • Experience/Aptitude for Financial Planning and Reporting systems (i.e. Hyperion Planning, Essbase)

  • Ability to communicate across the organization and manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent written, oral communication, presentation, ability to influence and change management skills

  • Experience/Aptitude for data and analytics tools (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx)
