Position Summary

The Lead Director, Container Security is a critical member of the Technology Services & Solutions organization, leading the container security capabilities spanning multi-cloud environments and on premises across all CVS Health’s footprints. This leader will partner closely with Information Security, various departments in Technology Services & Solutions and application development teams as well as Enterprise Product and Digital organizations to deliver secure container environments that are recognized as industry best in class models. The Lead Director will define strategic vision and roadmaps across accountable container services and technology, foster a culture of innovation to enable secure business solutions, drive operational excellence, optimize operating costs through technology rationalization and standardization and drive workforce strategy with an emphasis on talent development and retention.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

This role will lead teams accountable to:

  • Build and lead highly technical container security experts in areas of solution architecture, software engineering and security framework in areas that align with CVS goals for container adoption.

  • Drive container security program governance, objectives, implement solutions, define standards and policies to continually advance a secure enterprise container adoption program.

  • Define secure system solutions to meet evolving threat landscape and risks while balancing impacts to the CVS technology organizations.

  • Incorporate security into the DevOps and software development lifecycles through consistent communications and software automation.

  • Coordinate comprehensive container security testing and analysis to identify opportunities for CVS to improve its overall container security maturity. Ensure that all team members are aligned with the strategic vision for a secure container environment at scale.

  • Lead all container security efforts to align with CVS regulatory compliance, contractual obligations and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Manage education opportunities within Cloud Security Services and the internal CVS container customers addressing secure container adoption practices, foundational, non-negotiable controls, and related risks.

  • Ownership and management of container security policies and control standards for accountable services.

  • Thorough understanding of container technologies with a detailed understanding of security best practices, Cloud Security Alliance control architectures and related risks.

  • Ability to solve complex container security challenges with automated solutions.

  • Knowledge of automation, governance, identity and access management, logging and monitoring, configurations, compliance methodologies, network solutions, controls and associated risks.

  • Strategic thinking, ability to develop long term strategic plans for container security programs in a way that scales in conjunction with organizational adoption goals.

  • Detailed understanding of container security, architectures, best practices, and related risks.

  • Knowledge of industry leading container security tools and applicability to the CVS hybrid ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Technology

  • 5+ years of Kubernetes specific experience including high level architectural projects as well as Kubernetes specific automation.

  • 5+ years of direct people management experience

  • 2+ years of experience in the Software Development Lifecycle and CI/CD pipeline security concepts and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of public cloud concepts, preferably AWS, Azure & GCP

  • Deep understanding various container offerings and their consumption models.

  • Thorough understanding of container automation methods and related security implications.

  • Experience with container specific security frameworks, regulations, and security technologies such as data and asset protection.

  • Security Risk Analysis Procedures & Best Practices

  • Agility to deal with a constantly changing business environments.

  • Comfortable operating within areas of ambiguity to iterate and make progress in a consistent manner.

  • Able to build trusted and transparent partnerships between technology, business, customers, and container security providers.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels on strategic and operational information security programs.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
