Purpose Summary

The Talent Strategy Advisor will oversee the recruiting and compensation strategy for all schools across the Pearson Virtual School’s portfolio.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Reimagine and implement the full life cycle recruiting process in a fast paced, high-volume environment;

  • Create innovative compensation strategies that balance the needs of the customer with the customer’s budget;

Recruiting Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a group of requisitions for key leadership positions across the schools;

  • Execute recruiting strategies that include but are not limited to enhancing diversity recruitment efforts, and implement a plan to adhere to business and recruiting team objectives;

  • Create and implement a school specific educator recruitment strategy for every school in the PVS portfolio which will focus on clear and engaging job descriptions, highly effective recruiting sites, and an applicant experience that exceeds expectations;

  • Create and implement a best-in-class applicant experience which is engaging, informative and advances the quality of the applicant pool;

  • Create and manage the protocols for all positions which should include active sourcing of candidates to yield high quality candidates;

  • Support customers with enhancing their job descriptions and implement a database of all descriptions;

  • Use data to assess, monitor and evaluate team activities and provide tactical direction where needed to meet recruiting and processing expectations;

  • Provide training to hiring managers on interviewing and selection best practices;

  • Manage all relationships with recruiting tools and vendors;

Compensation Responsibilities:

  • Manage the market & internal alignment review process by conducting thorough annual market research on compensation for schools to include legislative mandates and market trends, prepare analysis, and make recommendations to HR Leadership; 

  • Using internal and external data points, make recommendations to HR Leadership regarding compensation changes related to the schools’ budgets;  

  • Manage the annual compensation review processes for all school staff and ensure accurate administration of the annual compensation processes (merit increases, market analysis, internal alignment); 

  • Create/implement tools and resources to support customers with salary planning and calculation;

  • Ensure the offered compensation programs enhance our customer’s ability to attract and retain talent;

  • Manage salary ranges for each position;

  • Participate in benefits and compensation surveys. Research and analyze published surveys to gather data on benefit plans and compensation levels and determine organization’s competitive position. 

Required Skills, Experience, and Competencies

  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 4 years recruiting and/or compensation experience

  • Excellent technical and software skills

  • Customer Centric – Acts with a strong customer mindset (both internal and external) and is a visible advocate for the customer. Builds strong relationships with customers and uses those to improve their experience and outcomes.

  • Communications - A great communicator who engages teams and stakeholders with thoughtful delivery and messages that resonate.

  • Takes personal responsibility – Can be relied on to complete tasks timely and well, demonstrates “ownership” regardless of the outcome, proactive in exploring and exploiting new opportunities.

  • Keen business acumen, strong analytic and problem-solving skills and tremendous drive for results

  • Ability to establish, maintain and grow positive relationships at all levels of the organization

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced company
