Position Summary:

The Underwriting Business Technology team is looking for a Manager to lead Development across Legacy Underwriting modeling. The Underwriting Business Technology team supports both our legacy tools and reporting for the underwriting system supporting Caremark’s 110 million customers. In this role, you will be frequently engaging with various stakeholders and frequently working under tight deadlines. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ability to navigate through a complex environment and work with large amounts of data to create development plans to make enhancements that benefit end users by: a.) making User Interface (UI) simpler, b.) addressing an existing issue, - and/or - c.) creating an entirely new design or solution.

  • Ability to interpret data in a manner that is statistically meaningful.

  • Willingness to work on multiple complex issues simultaneously and work with other teams.

  • Develop processes to create automated financial reporting around assumption and rebate changes.

  • Strong project management skills will be key to success.

  • Ability to lead User Experience calls with Underwriting, Rebates, Underwriting Analytics, Business Technology, and other teams which may be impacted by a project.

To be successful, you will need to bring a solid understanding the PBM business models, a customer-centric mindset, and an ability to drive forward technical solutions. Listening to understand the unique ways our UW and UW Analytics partners utilize the models/reporting needs and influencing solutions will be critical, as well as ensuring the execution is flawless. You will also need to be proven in your ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines with appropriate level of delegation to team members. As we embark into our new ecosystem, being able to develop and influence strong technical processes that fit business needs will be critical to current and future success. As the team experiences change, being a strong people leader will also be essential to success.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology efforts within a large organization.

  • 3+ years Excel, SQL Server, VBA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional people leadership skills, especially in leading teams through change

  • SSIS and SAS

  • Basic understanding of technical systems, such as Azure, Databricks and Teradata

  • Exceptional communication skills, including bringing clarity to complex situations, translating business partner feedback into technical requirements, and effectively managing high stress situations

  • Adaptability and ability to prioritize effectively

Education :

  • Bachelor's Degree is required

  • Equivalent Combination of education and experience may be considered

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$54,300.00 - $139,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
