Position description

Mayo Clinic’s Software Factory team is seeking a highly motivated, talented full stack developer to join the team. Mayo Clinic’s Software Factory is a toolset that brings together automation and accelerated development opportunities to product development teams who are building next generation digital solutions for the practice and our patients. As a technical leader you will be expected to work closely with product owners and enterprise architects to translate requirements into code. Lead technical teams and projects, participate in DevOps, Agile and continuous development environments. Interpret internal or external issues and recommend solutions/best practices when solving complex problems using a broad perspective. Participate in DevOps, Agile, continuous development integrations. Demonstrate expert level troubleshooting and resolve problems through root cause analysis, data, and system integration. Provides leadership in the technical design, system architecture, design, selection, and application of the of information systems resources to satisfy the requirements of the systems. Have specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in software engineering with a minimum of 8 yrs. of experience coding applications or services in a high-level language (C, C++, Golang, Python, Java, C# etc.). Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support. Interfaces routinely with colleagues who may be located at any of the Mayo Group practices to perform job responsibilities requiring virtual collaboration and partnership.

Experience in:

  • Cloud Technologies and Architectures (Google Cloud preferred)

  • Modern application development frameworks

  • Multi-Tier Architecture and design

  • Software development lifecycle

  • Agile

  • DevOps, CI/CD

  • C#, Java, or Python

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience including 5 years’ of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience.

Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Also, Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Additional qualifications

Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation to complete tasks and assignments on time. Proven evidence of project management skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication, organization, problem solving, and facilitation skills. Evidence of mastery level expertise in multiple technologies. Demonstrated ability in solving complex technical problems with multiple technologies. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.

Compensation Detail

Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $4,588-$6,653 based on a full-time position.
