Position Description :
Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in the Operating Room will collaborate with nurse managers, service line coordinators, clinical operations nurse specialists, staff, and additional pertinent key stakeholders on a daily basis. ANM will share responsibility in staffing, timecards, scheduling, evaluation of staff performance, and assure that staff meets necessary competencies in order to comply with state regulations and hospital policies. Aligning operating room goals with the strategic plan of UPHS.
The Operating Room at Pennsylvania Hospital is comprised of 28 operating rooms in 4 different locations throughout the Hospital allowing staff to assist in performing approximately 19,000 cases a year. The top services provided are Orthopedics, Neurology and ENT as well as other services including urology, foot and ankle, general plastics, vascular and cardiac. The O.R’s are equipped with the latest surgical and video technology that enables our care teams to deliver the very best patient care. The surgeons at Pennsylvania Hospital are pioneers in their fields and among the most experienced physicians in the country. Using the latest techniques and procedures, they are able to mold the future of surgery to improve the lives of patients worldwide and provide some of the most advanced medical care available today.
Our Registered Nurses provide direct care on elective, acute, and emergent levels from the time of the preoperative interview to the patient's transfer to the PACU post-operatively. Support services are provided by surgical technologists, perioperative assistants, ortho techs and medical secretaries, all of which assist the RN in delivering quality care.

Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required. A minimum of three years of progressive nursing experience with demonstrated leadership skills. And 5+ years Operating Room required.
PA RN: Graduate of an NLN approved school of professional nursing. Currently licensed as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
Evidence of excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills. Consistently self-directed and a self-starter, leader and effective facilitator of group dynamics.
Demonstrates ability to think creatively and build consensus around a common vision. Must be able to function effectively under stressful situations and tight deadlines.
