Data Transformation Analyst II

Summary:

The person selected for this position will have primary responsibility for collecting intel and reporting on offshore construction vessels and field development activity in various regions. The role calls for sourcing of details regarding vessel day rates and contracting activity, and to help maintain and update an internal database.

This is a critical position in support of the company’s varied customers who participate in the offshore construction market. These customers include international and state-controlled oil and gas companies, financial analysts, vessel owners, shipyards, equipment suppliers and others.

Location:

This position is situated in the IHS Markit office in Malaysia.

General Job Duties:

  • Collecting and reporting on offshore field development activities in the assigned region

  • Gathering and maintaining accurate data of assigned offshore subsea construction vessels

  • Updating and maintain data quality in company databases

  • Providing customer support when necessary

  • The position will also provide support for editorial and market research efforts

  • Analysis of data/news for contact conversation and contributions to forecasting reports

Specific Job Duties:

  • Establishing and maintaining relevant industry contacts, particularly via phone calling

  • Updating and maintaining the Company's proprietary databases, including data input and data checks

  • Providing support to related editorial and market research efforts as assigned

  • Editing and proofreading own work and that of others before publication

Required Education:

This position requires a university degree. Other relevant work experience will be considered.

Required Experience:

Preferred two years’ work experience and familiarity with the offshore oil and gas industry.

Other Skills:

  • The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, have excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English.

  • Working knowledge of common spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.

  • Solid grasp of global geography.

  • Enthusiasm and a genuine interest in the subject matter are extremely important.
