Pfizer Sr. Manager Remediation Projects in Peapack, New Jersey
ROLE SUMMARY
As a member of the Environmental Engineering, Remediation and Transaction (ERT) team you will be responsible for the development and execution of strategies to address environmental remediation obligations for a portfolio of complex projects located at active facilities and formerly active sites. The role involves working in a team environment as part of a matrixed organization. The ERT team provides leadership, expertise, and execution in the clean-up of environmental impacts and management of environmental liabilities. ERT team members are also responsible for environmental due diligence for transactions involving real property.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee a portfolio of challenging environmental remediation projects of varying sizes and complexities
Provide technical leadership and oversight during all project phases
Direct and supervise third party consultants
Review and approve project related documents and deliverables.
Maintain strict budget and cash flow management
Ensure a strong health and safety culture
Ensure regulatory compliance and effective agency interaction
Ensure effective partner and stakeholder engagement
Travel to domestic and international sites as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree or higher in in geology, environmental science, engineering, or a similar scientific major.
Minimum of 15 years of experience as an environmental remediation professional
Self-motivated individual who is effective working in a values-based team environment.
Leverages excellent interpersonal and communications skills to review, discuss, and inform key stakeholders of concepts to drive informed decisions
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously
Excellent technical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Experienced in field investigation techniques, remedial alternatives analyses, and remedy implementation.
Practical experience with the interpretation of environmental regulations relating to environmental investigation and remediation projects.
Experience in direct engagement with environmental regulatory authorities
Solid remedial cost estimation and budget/cash flow management skills.
Effective management of third-party consultant engagements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional certifications and/or OSHA HAZWOPER and RCRA training.
Experience in leading environmental due diligence and supporting transactions
International project experience
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
< 20% domestic and/or international travel may be required consistent with project demands.
