Trade Operation Senior Analyst ("Export-Import")

This position is responsible for optimizing effectiveness and efficiency of the immediate Trade Operations (“GTC”) team. This position will be primarily responsible for operations of moderately complex and demanding activities with delivery of high requirements of service across a site, multiple businesses, enterprises and projects in addition to ensure compliance of cross bordering activity . This includes data management, reporting & analysis, government agency interaction, shipment execution, client interactions, business client interaction, business partnership, and people, resource, budget and project management. Understanding the needs in a changing organization building trust with the business and balancing service level performance and service cost will be a key accountability as will ensuring that the service levels are maintained.


  • Oversee the execution of global trade compliance operations review for the activities managed by operations team, and/or pre/post transactional audits and trade data to ensure data integrity, adherence to processes, control effectiveness and compliant performance. Ensure corporate functions' recommendations, corrective actions and process improvements are implemented, monitored and communicated accordingly

  • Ensures pre-transaction regulatory requirements are fulfilled, using a substantial knowledge and understanding of global trade compliance operations practices and procedures.

  • Applies substantial understanding of global trade compliance operations practices and procedures to ensure compliant execution of cross border transactions

  • Ensures that global trade operations procedures are supported by proper due diligence demonstrating reasonable care. Provides guidance along with Country Manager, Trade Compliance and Customs Advisory team to resolve trade operations barriers while also minimizing the most significant trade compliance risk.

  • Utilizing a thorough understanding of trade compliance laws, regulations, practices and procedures, overseetrade operations teamto perform trade operations processes and work with country lead to resolve issues.

  • Implements global trade operations and compliance processes, “SOP”, and other compliance-related activities.

  • Collaborates with the different teams and functions to facilitate the execution the businesses global trade activities, focusing on compliance with both the foreign trade regulations and operational efficiencies.


  • Monitor key operational compliance performance indicators

  • Analyze and report local and cross functional performance indicators for location (e.g. performance metrics, SLAs, scorecards, cost models, compliance ratings, volumes, etc.).

  • Support country lead to monitor team performance, developing and reporting KPI’s to the country and regional leads supporting the achievement of the performance goals.

  • Monitor and provide quarterly, bi-weekly and/or monthly metrics to measure and report the accomplishments and the value that the team returns to the Business stakeholders

Ensure compliance for records & records retention

  • May provide oversight to the team for record keeping process and ensures records are maintained per regulatory requirements & Advisory inputs.

Perform transactional duty/tax reconciliation

  • Support tax and duties reconciliation inquiries from other functional areas by leveraging data and reports prepared by other analysts and specialists.

  • Provide support in duty / tax invoice disputes.

Support Risk Assessments, Ruling application, Government audits/escalations,

  • Analyzes, measures, evaluates and reports requited data sets of a single or multiple site or process area for internal or external risk assessments and audits and government requests for information.

  • Partnering with Customs Advisory and Trade Compliance team to support internal and external government agencies audits, review or investigations.


  • Act as key point of contact and co-lead for special projects including other functions and business partners.Plan agendas, lead meetings, influence and manage audience to reach expected goals for special projects.

  • Manage communication and documentation efforts as they pertain to the projects.

Evaluates analysis on risk exposure and process improvement, and provides direction and input for next steps.


  • Works closely with cross functional commercial management, sales, and customers to develop cross border solutions that add value to customers and supports business plans that impact the enterprise.

  • Manage or support the management of third party service vendors to fulfill performance and compliance requirements


Minimum Requi r ed Qualifications

  • BA/BS in a relevant field, i.e. business, customs, import/export or other related degree or certification and/or /-10 years of experience in a related field, including customs, trade compliance, import/export

  • Proven ability to oversee teams in a high stress, time sensitive environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and execution of a strategy in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and interests

  • Proven ability to manage cross border operations service performance across multiple businesses

  • Comfortable dealing with and maneuvering through ambiguity while still achieving clear objectives/requirements

  • Ability to plan implementation and lead the team to accomplish the vision

  • Fluent English in both written and verbal.
