Accountabilities:

  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.

  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation task assigned and defined in the sanitation program.

  • Responsible for all housekeeping schedules

  • Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation work.

  • Schedule cleaning, sanitation and other housekeeping work as deemed necessary.

  • Be flexible with the scheduling to accommodate production, shipping and receiving operations

  • Participate in forecasting and planning of sanitation and cleaning needs for the plant with management and operators.

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate food quality and safety standards, along with plant safety.

  • Ensure GMPs and SSOPs are maintained throughout the plant.

  • Provide general informal training and guidance to other employees as necessary to ensure adequate cleaning and sanitation work is being performed.

  • Perform operational duties to assist in plant operations and to provide a better understanding of cleaning and sanitation needs.

  • Possess sanitation record keeping skills and knowledge.

  • Communicate concerns about sanitation to all levels of management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

  • Able to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

  • Able to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

Preferred:

  • Able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment

  • Forklift certified

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

  • Basic use of a computer and typing skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in production related work
