Pearson Associate Project Specialist in Owatonna, Minnesota

SUMMARY

Assists Project Specialists with complex projects to insure a high level of quality. Works with team to meet project timelines and meet or exceed customer expectations. Provides assistance and guidance as it relates to developing the optimum solution.

SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB

  • Handles projects that may have a short-term focus, well defined scope and usually within own discipline.

  • Assignment Scope and Impact of Errors:An entry level professional capable of solving moderately complex problems. Understands the bigger picture of assignments and their relevancy to overall projects. Errors could cause delays to part of unit operations or assigned portion of project.

  • Supervision:Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Formal education or equivalent experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Experience in a project management or customer service role.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple, parallel projects.

Skills/knowledge/abilities

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication/interaction skills.

  • Effective organizational skills with the proven ability to assist in the coordinated efforts of Project Specialists.

  • Experience with Pearson, software, press and bindery functions to include the type and capability of presses and bindery equipment preferred including mailings and report assembly.

  • Excellent problem solving skills required effectively analyzing a need and offering multiple solutions.

  • Must present a professional image.

  • Exceptional computer skills required; experience with Microsoft SharePoint, eSuite, and /or Oracle preferred.

  • Exceptional attention to details required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Project Specialists with extreme accuracy preparing folders, pulling previously printed samples, organizing plateproofs, closing tickets, filing completed jobs, purging files, and invoicing customers.

  • Provides excellent assistance to Project Specialists ultimately providing customer service to Pearson customers that will lead to a high degree of customer satisfaction and account revenue retention.

  • Accurately performs data entry in iQuote and Monarch.

  • Participates actively in a team environment and takes responsibility for the teams’ activities and results. Manages daily workload within the team, independent of management.

  • Prioritizes timely and accurate invoicing of Customers, communicates with Pearson Finance team and Customer to answer billing related questions.

  • Assists with project activities that are manufactured in our sister facilities Cedar Rapids and Houston, and any projects that are manufactured with a third party vendor. When necessary works closely with procurement to outsource.

  • Performs functions which directly or indirectly impact the servicing of accounts (i.e. order entry, problem resolution, etc.).

  • Participates in Continuous Improvement to develop improved processes and adheres to all existing processes established.

  • Assists in preparing accurate account analysis as needed including revenue forecasts and annual planning.

  • Completes special projects or assignments as directed by management.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to: Owatonna Operations Manager

  • Supervises: None

CONTACTS:

  • Communicates with all facility personnel and outside vendors as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Non-confined, office-type sitting more than 50% of work hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to work hours as necessary to complete assigned projects.

  • Open office environment
