Job Description:

The Senior Analyst, Payroll position within the Payroll Support Team will bring extensive payroll knowledge, including Company Stock Programs, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQDC), Payroll Tax and Garnishments, and General Payroll Operations to perform a variety of project related work, technical support for HR Payroll systems and root cause analysis for payroll escalations and solution development. The Sr Analyst, Payroll will report to the Manager, Payroll, and provide subject matter expertise to the Payroll Services and Operations Team and partners to drive process design and improvements.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the development of programs and processes to ensure payroll compliance and efficient processing within Payroll Operations. Successful individuals will be adept at prioritization and organization of tasks, assigned and unassigned, at all times to achieve operational effectiveness and communicating to leadership and the team on projects.

This position will support the Payroll Services and Operations Team and works in a highly collaborative team environment which is expected to drive a positive culture with teammates through support, coaching, and mentoring. The position partners with internal client groups as a representative of the Payroll Support Team, including but not limited to Legal, Accounting and Finance, Commissions, and HR Solutions, to drive solutions and provide consulting to ensure efficient process design.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include:

  • Represent the Payroll Support Team as a subject matter expert on company-wide projects, including all cross-functional work related to Payroll Services and Operations. This position will manage the creation of timelines, attendance of meetings, project plan work, author test scripts, perform UAT testing, and validate data

  • Lead large payroll projects, from the creation of timelines, facilitation of meetings, the delegation of duties, take notes and follow up and confirm completion of tasks

  • Support HR Payroll system set-up, including migration and transition

  • Lead in coordinating internal and external audit compliance. Performs internal audits and prepares documents for various external audits where necessary. Strong knowledge of SOX controls and compliance

  • Oversee legislation and regulatory ruling impacting Payroll Operations. Enforce adherence and advise management on required actions

  • Level II quality control checkpoint of the full payroll production cycle

  • Ability to solve problems through quantitative and qualitative analysis in a team-based environment. Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to work independently, conduct research, formulate conclusions, and present recommendations regarding complex business issues

  • Drive best practices and standardization, increase automation, develop reconciliation procedures, identify and implement needed improvements of department processes, procedures and audits to improve operational effectiveness, increase accuracy and ensure legal compliance

  • Provide stellar customer service to our employees, vendors, and partners. Drive positive efforts to improve service level agreements (SLAs). Own escalations from customers, Employee Care, and Payroll Leadership

  • Deliver data management assessments and metrics to Payroll Leadership and partners

  • Facilitate year-end and quarter-end payroll activities, including organizing meetings and deliverables with all team partners and tasks for the production team. Ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time

  • Aptitude to develop strong working relationships and proactively communicate to team, leadership, stakeholders, partners, and customers to resolve any issues that might prevent timely processing or result in integrity issues

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced & high-pressure environment with precise accuracy while meeting deadlines

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of progressive payroll experience. Emphasis on stock programs and Executive compensation

  • Extensive payroll experience with a 30k+ multi-state employee base

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, critical thinking, set priorities, problem-solve, and make decisions and follow-through

  • Experience performing numerous functions of HR, Payroll, reporting applications, and system integrations

  • Experience with ADP Vantage and/or Kronos

  • Advanced Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas; macros a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to relay complex information succinctly

  • Ability to apply analytical reasoning in problem assessment and resolution so must be proficient with using root cause analysis concepts

  • Demonstrated ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organizational goals

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of data and make data-driven decisions and recommendations

  • Demonstrated ability to consult and interface with varying management levels and internal & external partners by leveraging expertise in subject matter and applying influencing skills. Can conceptualize from the big picture down to detail level and generate innovative solutions

  • Project or process management experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Desired

  • Experience with payroll in the U.S. Territories

  • Expertise with Workday

  • Experience with applying the Lean Sigma Principles

  • CPP certification
