Team & Job Overview

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.

  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.

  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.

  • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

The ServiceNow Platform Administrator is a critical role within our Now Platform Squad which is accountable for addressing a wide range of service demands from internal customers, platform architects, platform owner and other technical stakeholders. The Platform Administrator helps to maintain the platform in various ways to respond to operational needs. The ServiceNow Platform Administrator enables our Now Platform team through platform configuration, maintenance, performance, security, knowledge, and process improvement. It also covers an aspect of continuous improvement, with capability improvements, key lead role in special projects, and collaborating with ServiceNow Analysts to better support the organization.

To be successful in this role, you will have to use your proven technical skills, analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and high level of communication.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Perform day-to-day operations of platform configuration, maintenance, and support.

  • Lead the deployment of features and ServiceNow releases.

  • Act as support administrator to corporate IT/Operations, typically come in and address tickets, system maintenance, reporting clean-up

  • Perform and coordinate platform activities such as developing specifications, coding, testing, debugging, adjusting, and documenting to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of the platform.

  • Lead code-review sessions and ensure overall code quality aligns with business and project requirements.

  • Monitor production and user acceptance testing support to troubleshoot complex problems on applications and technologies.

  • Coordinate with third-party support consultants, follows-up on tickets and to ensure issues are resolved to satisfaction.

  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to conceptualize products and services, leveraging data to drive original design ideas and decisions.

  • Work with the Platform Owner and the Platform Architects to identify and evaluate complex solutions against a wide range of criteria, develop new capabilities, workflows, platform, integration, and data challenges.

  • Participate in managing the platform and components upgrades and data maintenance and migrations.

  • Create clear and concise technical and process documentation.

  • Contribute to the agile team goals by collaborating with other functional teams, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies, and expanding the technical capabilities of the team.

Screening Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience on ServiceNow platform

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer

Assets

  • Experience in an Agile release planning combining to meeting key deliverable and dated milestones.

  • Capacity to work in close relationship with the PO to define roadmaps.

  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience of ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Service portal, virtual agent.

  • Strong knowledge of CMDB management and CSDM

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow modules ITSM, CSM, SecOps, Application Portfolio Management and Workplace Service Delivery.

  • Proficiency with App Engine and system integration

  • Proficiency with command line, PowerShell, bash, and comprehension of scripting commonly used in Windows environments.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently but also in a team environment.

Salary Range:

  • Infra. Platform Architect 18: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,355 To $123,140 plus a performance-based incentive.

Location

  • Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.

  • This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from all other EDC Community Hubs (Toronto/Mississauga, Montreal/Laval/Brossard, Calgary, Vancouver, Halifax).
