We are seeking a senior analyst for the Accounts Receivables department, to provide support for collection and billing activities, as well as complex credit analysis, and problem resolution. The position is located in Ottawa,

Main Responsibilities:

Provide guidance to a team of 4 to 5 individuals, with billing, collection and cash application responsibilities, to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines and CBC policies.

Conducts detailed analysis of financial and non-financial data for clients

Prepare and reconcile specialized reports for AR activities and KPIs, requested by management and/or clients.

Manages and maintains data in the database (account set up, data cleansing), collects, extracts, and analyzes the data, and offers support in database audit.

Reviews and analyzes credit applications, evaluates risk, and assigns credit lines and terms in accordance with CBC policies.

Implements new procedures and policies to enforce collections and reduction of the DSO.

Provides support to the AR management team for managing the bad debt, reaching the monthly goals and for AR projects to improve the efficiency of the department.

Maintains a strong and close relationship with the sales group

The ideal candidate will have Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business or Finance or a minimum of 5 years of full cycle AR experience

  • CCP designation or at least 3 years of experience in credit analysis

  • Bilingual: Excellent oral and written communication in English and French.

  • Knowledge and experience with risk assessment including market, financial, management and operational risk factors.

  • Excellent financial statement/financial data analytical skills.

  • Good knowledge and experience with the order-to-cash transactional process

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, but with Word, and Power Point as well.

  • Experience of presenting complex data in various formatsExpertise in SAP software is an asset.Experience in working with large data bases.Demonstrated ability to proactively lead a large credit portfolio, and to develop effective working relationships with internal clients and colleagues and external contacts. Proven analytical skills and judgment.Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills

  • Comfortable making decisions and working in a fast paced environment

  • Must be a good team player
