Role:

The job is responsible for implementing inventory performance and merchandising service strategies for Canada. This includes but is not limited to end customer order fulfillment, inventory management with the intent to maintain lowest possible Days of Sales of Inventory (DSO), supporting logistics load fill requirements along with achieving inbound warehouse efficiencies. This position works with the Director of Integrated Planning to leverage centrally led programs for efficiency and consistency.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Owns the Rules Based Inventory model (RBIM)

  • Works with Operations to identify slotting strategies to improve efficiency.

  • Works with the Procurement Managers and National Demand planners to implement service improvement strategies.

  • Defines and tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management, such as inventory turns, fill rate, order accuracy, compliance to forecast.

  • Prepares reports and analysis on performance metrics.

  • Identifies patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process and forecast improvements.

  • Leverages inventory management tools Demand Planning & Replenishment (DPR) to improve inventory requirements.

  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.

  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • 5 plus years experience with forecasting and inventory management processes and systems in businesses with high volumes of customers and products. Example systems such as E3 Trim, JDA replenishment and fulfillment, Manugistics DPEE, Manhattan Demand Planning (DPR) or IBM INFOREM.

  • Information Technology/Applications development experience in a supply chain context is considered a plus.

  • Be considered a subject matter expert in supply chain.

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business preferred.

  • MBA a plus.

  • Advanced computer proficiency and experience in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Access, or SQL server, Python

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively foster strong relationships with Vendors, internal departments in regions and corporate to resolve issues and create competitive advantage.

  • Strong negotiation, organizational, decision making and presentation skills.

  • High degree of integrity and accountability; handles a significant amount of proprietary information and process. Trust is essential.

  • Capable of indirectly leading, must have ability to look for innovation and opportunities and identify solutions for complex or unique problems.

  • Equally adept at working independently with little direction as working in a team environment. Needs flexible working style.

  • Ability to convey complicated, detailed information in a concise and effective manner.

  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Ability to lead and motivate others.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required as there may be up to 10% travel.
