Key Responsibilities

  • Manages financial risks and provides liquidity to the Corporation by analyzing, recommending and/or transacting interest rate, foreign exchange, liquidity, funding and capital management strategies

  • Researches relevant capital markets information to support the formulation of pricing, hedging, investment and funding opportunities/recommendations and executes on the approved strategy

  • Assists in assessing key risks within the scope of the Treasury operation and develops strategies to mitigate these risks

  • Participates in drafting and/or revising of documents required to deliver financial products (i.e. bond issues, issuance programs, swap agreements, financial models, shelf filings, etc.)

  • Prepares material for investor relations’ program and markets EDC to international investors through face-to-face meetings, webinars, panels and other communication channels

  • Develops and maintains business relationships with Canadian government departments, investors, investment counterparties, financial institutions and peers in the capital and money markets

  • Provides on-going support to EDC’s business teams for Treasury-related questions and new and evolving products

  • Works to enhance Treasury and Treasury-related processes

  • Mentors others on the Treasury team, especially on more complex technical aspects of the Treasury function

Screening Criteria

  • Finance or Business Administration-related degree with strong quantitative analysis skills

  • In-depth understanding of the bond and foreign exchange markets, pricing and derivatives

  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to synthesize a lot of complex information

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a government, finance, economics, risk management or international business environments

Assets

  • Professional designation (e.g. CFA, CPA Accounting, MBA)

  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)

Salary Range:

  • Treasury 20: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $124,273 to $165,696 plus a performance-based incentive.

Location

  • Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.

  • This role will be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
