Team & Job Overview
The Information Management & Library Services (IMLS) team is responsible for governing the lifecycle management of information at EDC. The team advises EDC and provides guidance on best practices for information lifecycle management including SharePoint and M365 governance, retention and disposition of information, e-mail management, application decommissioning, information/content storage locations, content description, content integrity and information protection.
The team is also responsible for tracking and managing the information subscription budgets, renewals and new product purchases, evaluating business requirements, coordinating access to subscriptions, and updating the e-Library catalogue.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student or recent graduate to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with:
Boxing up print files
Disposition of records
Populating an organization-wide content type inventory
System configuration, migration of data and testing,
Developing training and communications
Conversion of legacy media (e.g. film reels) to other formats
Reviewing and actioning client requests for access to information subscriptions
Updating user lists
Collecting and analyzing usage data and user feedback for information subscription renewals
Organizing training sessions delivered by suppliers for information subscriptions
Creating curated collections to drive awareness and use of information subscriptions
This Junior Associate position provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in information management and library services.
Screening Criteria
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Information Management/Library Science program (or recent graduate)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with SharePoint,
Proficiency: M365, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Strong communication skills
Can lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs
Is available to work onsite in EDC’s downtown Ottawa office
Assets
- Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French) would be considered an asset.
