Our Workforce Planning, Analytics & Governance team is at the heart of our corporate strategy, working together with Finance to shape the future of our organization. We’re looking for a dynamic student who is passionate about data and eager to contribute to meaningful projects that drive our company forward.

Workforce Planning, Analytics & Governance team activities include designing, implementing and monitoring a variety of human resource data strategies, policies, and programs including Workforce Planning, Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Bilingualism, Employee Wellness, Performance Management, Succession Planning, and Culture (Employee Pulse Surveys, etc.). Crafting dashboards with metrics that matter and that drive meaningful people-centric decisions across EDC, our goal is the effective collection and use of HR data to enable informed decisions leading to improved organizational outcomes.

Our team provides consultative support for other HR teams for various programs, as well as acts as the primary point of contact for EDC business stakeholders requiring HR data.

Junior Associate, Analytics & Data

The Analytics & Data job function is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating business data reports to inform and support internal and customer business decisions and ensure the various functions stay strategically aligned. Roles in this job function conduct research market data, provide economic outlooks, country-specific data, and work with various analytics tools and methods to organize, model, analyze and visualize data to better inform critical decision making and insights to business groups.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student or recent graduate to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with various data-related tasks, including ad hoc analysis, data sourcing, and quality control. This Junior Associate position provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in data management and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cherwell System Management: Utilize your knowledge of Cherwell to manage and triage ad hoc requests, ensuring efficient workflow and data integrity.

  • Data Sourcing and Analysis: Harness government sites and internal data sources to gather critical data, followed by meticulous auditing and peer review to maintain high standards of accuracy.

  • Data Architecture and Analytics: Write and execute SQL queries to extract and manipulate data. Archive, Update and Maintain data. Support and augment interpretation of predictive analytics data, using pre-set tools, software, methods and formats.

  • Standardize Reports: Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and implement best practices for reporting. Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility by creating and maintaining standardized reports.

  • Develop Interactive Dashboards: Utilize your expertise in Power BI to design and develop interactive dashboards that provide valuable insights. Continuously improve dashboard functionality and user experience based on feedback.

  • Documentation and Organization: Take charge of document formatting, editing, and organizing to support our team’s documentation needs.

Screening Criteria:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Aptitude in data analysis, modeling, and quality control.

  • Experience with data entry and basic queries.

  • Research skills and ability to source information.

  • Familiarity with Cherwell, ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools.

  • Proficiency: M365, including Microsoft Excel and Word; as well as basic to intermediate knowledge of Power BI and Fabric, for data visualization and reporting.

  • Quality Control and Governance: Contribute to our governance practices with a keen eye for detail and process management.

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Support reporting deliverables, effective communication and service in both English and French.
