This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

We are looking for a highly motivated Administrator to provide assistance to both the Corporate Finance and the Corporate Controller teams (Ottawa Finance).

The Corporate Finance team oversees the receipt, management and distribution of funds across the Corporation, and forecasts how those funds can and will be spent in the future. The Controllership team is a center for excellence within the Corporation for all matters and questions about accounting, financial policy and control, and practices for financial processes. They drive, monitor and, when necessary, enforce best practices in sound fiscal management. You do not need to have previous experience in those areas, but eagerness to learn our industry is a must.

You will be working in a dynamic, demanding environment where your ability to see the big picture, be flexible, juggle priorities and activities to meet short deadlines is mandatory.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the Corporate Finance and Controllership teams for project planning, structure and delivery of high complexity projects.

  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate Finance and Controllership teams on various projects as assigned.

  • Provide support to the Corporate Finance and Controllership teams to achieve project objectives. This includes but is not limited to: support in contract initiation and renewals, contract signatures follow through, departmental technology requirements coordination, invoice processing, budget monitoring etc.

  • Your role will also be to help streamline some processes, toolboxes and templates to ensure the least errors are made.

  • Provide support to the Corporate Finance Executive Director and Executive Director & Corporate Controller (Executive Directors/ Corporate Controller), including scheduling and ad hoc administrative tasks.

  • Directs the flow of information between the offices of the Executive Directors/ Corporate Controller and internal/external sources; assesses the urgency and importance of queries/problems and ensures a timely response/resolution.

  • Undertakes ad hoc administrative work for the department (i.e. managing supplies, filing, etc.).

  • Assists with coordination, preparation and finalization of a variety of materials, including internal correspondence and presentations to senior management and the audit committee.

  • Anticipate and solve problems and handle critical tasks for the offices of the Executive Directors and Corporate Controller, as required, while maintaining a consideration for potential impact on other areas of the Corporation.

  • May perform research, analysis and some project coordination in department activities.

  • Support the management of Access to Information and privacy requests.

  • Work with confidential and sensitive information relating to communications, policy and regulatory matters, financial activities and impacts and external relations.

  • Perform quarterly functions to help support the completion of the quarterly financial statements (management sign-offs ect)

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with various senior CBC/Radio-Canada managers, departments and external contacts.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • As the Administrator of the Corporate Finance and Controllership teams, you must have experience or knowledge of finance coordination or project management and planning processes

  • Post-secondary education in business administration or related discipline, as well administrative experience

  • Superior knowledge of and experience with computer applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Business Applications

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written

  • Highly developed administrative and organizational skills

  • Sound judgment and initiative

  • Strong ability to handle multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential

  • Owing to the confidentiality of some correspondence, must be able to act independently when required

  • Requires the ability to comprehend and act on complex and sensitive matters

  • Professional tact and diplomacy are essential

  • Bilingualism French and English required
