JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Manager Facilities & Projects

Reporting to the Senior Manager Projects, this position is responsible to manage and optimize portfolio of investments to achieve Corporate Real Estate objectives. This role involves developing and implementing investment strategies, analyzing market trends, and managing risk to ensure portfolio performance aligns with organization goals. You will work closely with project team, finance, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

You are also responsible for and supervise a section comprising of professional, Technical and trades staff. Provide leadership in project management including design, cost schedule, quality, material control and contract work. Be responsible for optimization of project implementation. Participate in strategic planning, budgeting and training programs.

JOB DUTIES

  • Either internally, or through contracts, provide one or more of the following services: station facility services commercial facility services for leased and owned properties; or project support services

  • Specific to the areas of building management; facility management; office accommodation; fleet management; project management, including OMA & Capital projects; training and staffing to meet specific work and safety requirements; budget/business planning; and purchased services.

  • Specify the site-level process requirements and controls to be applied across the site. Establish standards for performance of site work in conjunction with Company standards.

  • Manage the implementation of Company and Site policies, providing functional advice and guidance relating to same, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Deliver, within budgeted funds, specified service levels and timeliness, designated facility services including building and facility management, fleet management, custodial, accommodation, Call Centre, training, staffing, Station Condition Records (SCR), Corrective Action Program (CAP), contract administration, projects management, benchmarking and budget/business planning. Develop Service Level Agreement's in concert with contracted clients and establish regular process for monitoring and reporting results. Monitor the performance of the business.

  • Develop maintenance techniques, methods and technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.

  • Analyze internal and external operating experience and recommend corrective actions and improvement initiatives to the Director Facilities and Projects.

  • Be responsible for project management development of project performance measures, preparation of work breakdown structures, project schedules, tracking and monitoring of project costs and schedules. Be responsible for project management systems support, integrated cost/scheduling monitoring and auditing compliance to process and project plans.

  • Supervise and administer a section of project management support staff. Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate and allocate assignments, assigning work directly. Provide guidance and direct technical assistance as required and maintain a check on progress and accuracy. Develop, implement and maintain standards, methods and procedures for carrying out the work, and be responsible for quality and production.

  • Supervise and oversee staff serving Facilities Departments to assemble complete work packages, scope of works, RFP/RFQ documents, schedules and estimates for all work disciplines (i.e. Civil, electrical, mechanical), verify contractor estimates, establish and maintain estimating cost data base and software programs as required by the business units.

  • Participate in Site and Company teams and initiatives.

  • Represent management in joint processes, including Grievance Review Boards (GRB) and the like.

  • Other Duties as Required

EDUCATION

  • 4-year university degree inScience, Engineering,Finance, Economics, Business Administrationrelated field.

QUALIFICATION

  • 5+ years’ experience in Project Management, and/or related fields.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a progressive leadership role.

  • PMP certification considered an asset.

  • Experience in the operation of plant facilities, including specialized equipment, processes, tooling, techniques, and methods. Knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and risk management strategies.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong planning, managerial, and leadership skills.

  • Proven track record of managing successful investment portfolios.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
