Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Work as part of the Pharmacy Team to ensure that each customer has a superior shopping experience at CVS

and to ensure customer satisfaction by serving each customer according to our company Values

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Customer Service

• Greet each customer in a courteous and professional manner

• Assist all pharmacy and front store customers with their questions and concerns

• Request additional help when needed to maximize customer satisfaction

• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company standards

• Answer telephone timely and with appropriate greeting

Operations

• Comply with all federal and state laws, rules and regulations

• Comply with CVS policy and procedures at all times

• Adhere to CVS workflow and ensure quality assurance standards are maintained at all times

• Communicate and interact with all healthcare professionals to provide optimal care

• Access, input and retrieve information to/from the computer

• Resolve Third Party rejections and complete any manual claim forms

• Maintain prescription prioritization throughout prescription processing

• Process prescriptions

o Including translation of SIG codes, product selection, counting and measuring drugs, capping

and uncapping vials and bottles; labeling of prescriptions

• Perform all prescription pick-up procedures, in adherence of CVS policy and procedures

o Complete Prescription Pick-Up Log, validate customer address

o Make the Offer to Counsel and direct customer to Pharmacist (if necessary)

• Perform all register transactions, in adherence of CVS policy and procedures

o This includes cash, check and charge transactions

o Bag merchandise upon completion of sale

• Answer customer medical questions when appropriate

• Retrieve and file prescriptions appropriately according to State and Federal Law

• Assist Pharmacist with maintaining daily and weekly reports

• Communicate with Field Management and the Customer Support Center regarding any required reporting

• Participate in all required store operational meetings

• Maintain a clean, organized and professional pharmacy department, according to CVS standards

• Stand for extended periods of time

Under Direct Supervision of Pharmacist

• Solicit information on a customers medical history to give appropriate medical advice

• Practice and develop duties performed by pharmacists when applicable and according to law

Inventory Management

• Maintain in-stock by ensuring all inventory management policies and procedures are followed

• Utilize appropriate report(s) to maintain replenishment

• Pull outdated, damaged and recalled merchandise and prepare for return

• Assist with putting away drug orders (except CIIs) as permitted by law

Human Resources

• Support scheduling activities according to the needs of the business and workflow model

• Coordinate/implement the training and development of Pharmacy Support Staff

• Complete all required training and compliance programs within designated timeframe

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist front store operations when needed

• Communicate with field management and corporate any required reporting

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 16.00

Maximum: 19.00

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

Actively enrolled in a school or college of pharmacy.· Must possess a valid Intern license as required or be in the process of obtaining one.

Education

Accepted into or actively enrolled in a AACP accredited college or school of pharmacy
