Mutual of Omaha Temporary Travel Coordinator- Omaha, NE or Remote in OMAHA, Nebraska

Provide travel consultation and schedule travel reservations for Corporate and field personnel and certain guests to contribute to efficient and economical arrangements made for business meetings, conventions, sales activities, training/schools, etc.


  • Provide travel consultation with corporate employees, field personnel and guests regarding travel plans, schedule business-related (including all sales schools and small meetings) or personal travel reservations, setting up proposed scheduling with requestors, and placing and confirming airline, hotel and car reservations using the computer system and/or individual airline, hotel and car reservation services as appropriate. Set up arrangements at the most economical rates available; reserve individual meeting and banquet rooms at hotels as requested; send confirmations of all reservations to requestors.

  • Determine the best and most timely distribution of field airline tickets using overnight, express mail or electronic tickets. Open and distribute mail including routing bills and confirmations to appropriate individuals.

  • Reconfirm all return flight information for field personnel visiting the Home Office, adjusting schedules and obtaining new reservations as needed.

  • Schedule international reservations providing advice and assistance to employees in obtaining passports, tourist cards and other related documents. Schedule Amtrak and Metroliner reservations and purchase tickets.

  • Coordinate school/meeting/convention arrangements confirming attendance; notifying personnel of any penalties, advance purchase requirements or additional monies owed; and distribute tickets.

  • Research air fares (including discounted and convention rates), car/hotel rates and airline schedules, periodically contacting the individual hotel or car company's accounting departments.

  • Remain abreast of changes and updates in the corporate travel policy to include airline, hotel and car discounts. Remain abreast of airline changes to include strikes, weather conditions, airport closings, schedule changes, delays and diversions.

  • Maintain outside contact with airline, hotel and car personnel. Attend classes given at travel agencies to keep updated on changes in the industry.


  • Knowledge of and experience with corporate travel activities.

  • Knowledge of travel agency operations and airline computer systems.

  • Familiarity with geography.

  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in stressful situations.

  • Effective communication and human relations skills.

  • Ability to work in a demanding environment involving strict time lines and constant personal interaction.
