Mutual of Omaha Senior UX Visual Designer - Remote or Omaha, NE in OMAHA, Nebraska
Our Digital Design and Development team is looking for an experienced UX Visual Designer to help set strategic design direction and enhance our online presence with user centered designs. Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on our success. As a key member of our team, you will work directly with developers, business stakeholders, and other creative resources. You will lead the full design experience and build product solutions that pair user needs with business goals to ensure a consistent, cohesive brand and user experience throughout the user/customer journey on our websites.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Conceptualize and create high-fidelity responsive layouts, refining details throughout the development process
Work with management to help set goals for UX visual design
Mentor Jr. UX Visual Designers by providing thoughtful constructive design feedback
Solve design problems with a holistic view
Build designs using HTML, CSS and other coding as needed
Establish and evolve designs to meet user needs under various scenarios (browser, screen size, screen readers, etc.)
Build reusable design elements and components to increase efficiency and consistency
Optimize design resource files
Understand digital accessibility and design using best practices for ADA compliance to ensure that designs and code provide progressive enhancements and accessibility for all users
Present and explain design strategy in critiques and creative review discussions
Articulate design decisions
Collaborate with UX researchers, designers and developers to solve UX issues with visual and functionality-based solutions
Work closely with stakeholders, project managers, product owners, scrum masters, and business analyst documenting detailed design requirements
Iterate on designs based on user feedback results
Build interactive prototypes for usability studies
Participate in key meetings including daily standups and iteration planning sessions
Inform the design process of opportunities and challenges presented by the medium through which the user will experience the product
Advocate and evangelize user experience across the organization and communicates the value and principles of user-centered design and development

You have a wealth of experience in conceptualizing, building high-fidelity prototypes and designing digital assets. What you’ll need:
An in-depth portfolio. Applications will not be considered without one
5+ years hands-on experience as a UX Visual Designer
3+years hands-on experience in front-end development being proficient in HTML and CSS with familiarity of Java Script (native, as well as frameworks such as jQuery or AngularJS)
Familiar with the Interaction Design process or have worked with Interaction Designers before
Experience with common design software (Adobe products, Sketch, Abstract, InVision, Litmus)
Knowledge or experience with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud
Ability to design for and execute across multiple interfaces, platforms and channels (web, email, mobile, social media)
Fluent in responsive design
Understanding of branding as it relates to user experience
Experience and an understanding of ADA compliance requirements
Ability to communicate ideas through design prototypes
Familiarity with Google Analytics or other web analytics solutions
Help promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the department and the larger organization

Bachelor's degree in design or related field

Experience working in an agile environment

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000
Pay is commensurate with experience
