Business Process Advisor - Swap Data Reporting
Description
The organization's risk management structure is designed to promote effective governance and risk management that is systematic, transparent, credible, timely, and verifiable through clear delineation and execution of key roles and responsibilities.
Its goal is to assess and/or manage risks that may impact the company, including credit, financial, liquidity, market, operational, reputational, strategic, and other risks as appropriate.
The Business Process Advisor - Swap Data Reporting reports to the VP Derivatives and FX Compliance Support and will partner with their assigned Line of Business, other Business Risk Professionals, and Business Risk Managers to, depending on their function, create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework.
Duties may include:
Coordination of special projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
Define and participate in processes for validation and reconciliation of reportable swaps traded by the Bank, as defined by CFTC regulation and industry practice
Identify gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors
Actively identify, respond and/or escalate risks as appropriate
Inform policies, procedures, and controls in an effort to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure
Collaborate with Technology & Operations Services, Compliance, Legal, Risk & Control and business line managers to ensure transparent and aligned objectives
Serve as a functional liaison between the Business Line and the Lines of Defense, including compliance and audit, and may occasionally engage with legal contacts and/or regulators
Act as subject matter expert for reporting regulations and related industry practices
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
7-10 years of applicable experience
Applicable professional certifications
Preferred Skills/Experience
Swap Data Reporting
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate asset classes, and derivatives
Familiarity with capital markets middle office, and the regulatory requirements for timely, complete, and accurate reporting for FX and OTC Derivatives products (17 CFR Parts 43 and 45)
Basic understanding of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) framework for swaps reporting
Familiarity with CGI Object Charlie, Calypso, and/or Numerix Wallstreet FX applications strongly preferred
Compliance/Risk Management
Basic knowledge of Business Risk competencies
Ability to proactively identify potential gaps, escalate appropriately, and assist with corrective action
Maintain currency with industry changes, including applicable laws, rule amendments, regulatory expectations and trends, DTCC technical specifications, and other industry-wide initiatives that may have a material impact on swap data reporting
Foster awareness and understanding of compliance and risk management best practises with operations partners
Experience with audit/regulatory issue management, response, and escalation
Project Management
Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of operational process change and improvement, preferably within capital markets operations
Strong process facilitation and project management skills
Strong presentation, relationship building, collaboration, and negotiation skills
Monitor and coordinate multiple project workstreams simultaneously
General
Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to work independently without direct supervision
Well-developed analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Comfortable with ambiguity
Detail-orientated
Ability to build and manage a team of Business Risk professionals who have credibility and work directly with business line management, as appropriate
Possess business acumen and credibility to proactively identify and address changing workforce needs
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient computer navigation skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentations
Proficiency with Microsoft products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, Planner, SharePoint, and OneDrive) is a plus
Advanced skills with spreadsheet formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc. is a plus
Proficiency with database tools (ex. Microsoft Access, SQL, etc.) is a plus
Knowledge of U.S. Bank’s operations, systems, and practices
Experience supporting procedure writing and maintenance processes

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,010.00 - $130,600.00 - $143,660.00
