Garmin Training Media Specialist Consumer Sales in Olathe, Kansas

The Consumer Sales Training Media Specialist designs, shoots, and edits video materials presented to customers through various support channels. They partner with the Consumer Electronics Segments, exuding a high level of technical aptitude, to create media content needed for supporting partnering retail associate needs with a focus on increasing mind-share and competency in Garmin’s product offerings. \n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n\n\tProduce and deliver high-quality support videos on a scheduled basis, meeting production deadlines\n\tDisplay strong technical support skills understanding Garmin products and customer expectations\n\tCommunicate and collaborate closely with Consumer Sales leaders and team members on planning of content\n\tWrite script and design storyboards for content discussed with Consumer Sales leadership\n\tRevise content as needed taking all feedback into account and using sound judgment in decision making \n\tRemain current on changes in policies, procedures, and product offerings\n\tBecome highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities and operation of Garmin products and software applications across all consumer markets\n\tUnderstand retail associate needs regarding Garmin products, features and benefits in order to develop media to assist in increasing retail sales\n\tProduce content as requested from non-segment sources such as the training team or other managers \n\tReview previously created content regularly for accuracy and necessity\n\tRepresent department and company image to the public by means of training videos\n\tEnsure a high level or quality and accuracy is maintained in all content released to the public\n\tTimely completion of tasks and/or projects of high complexity within the defined process \n\tWorks collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates \n\tOffers suggestions for improving processes and guidelines\n\tUnderstands and applies Garmin’s Mission, Vision and Values\n\n\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n\n\tStay informed of digital technology, video and film developments and changes \n\tPerform other miscellaneous duties as assigned\n\t \n EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\n\n\n\tBachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Adult Education, Human Resources, Interactive Design, OR a substantially similar user experience of 4 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description\n\tMinimum of 2 years’ experience in filming or editing content \n\tDemonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite\n\tPersonal or professional demonstrated technical aptitude\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word\n\tExcellent researching, writing and editing skills for videos\n\tPossess keen attention to detail and quality\n\tAbility to exercise sound judgment while working proactively and effectively with minimal supervision\n\tAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment\n\tStrong communication skills when working with staff at various levels \n\tMust exhibit professionalism, be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others\n\tPossess customer experience and Garmin product knowledge \n\n\nDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\n\tSpoken and verbal presentations skills that lend themselves to on-camera training\n\tTraining experience with high profile clients and/or business partners\n\tPractical experience in post-secondary or adult education \n\tKnowledge of Garmin and competitive products\n\tExperience in developing interactive, multimedia training materials\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
