Garmin Social Media Community Engagement Specialist - Cycling in Olathe, Kansas

The Social Media Community Engagement Specialist - Cycling is responsible for managing day-to-day conversations with Garmin’s global cycling community. Work closely with the Global Social Content Manager and social strategy team to build long-lasting relationships (and sales!) with our audience through community engagement. \n\nEssential Functions:\n\n\n\tAs the “voice of Garmin” on social media, this role will lead the way in establishing 1:1 communication with our communities on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. \n\tHelp us grow our audience and build long-lasting relationships by motivating, inspiring, encouraging and celebrating them via community engagement. \n\tMonitor select Garmin social channels Monday-Friday 9a-5p (and potentially weekends during events season or other business priorities)\n\tEngage via reactive engagement on posts/replies that tag @Garmin, @GarminFitness, @GarminCycling or #Garmin. \n\tEngage via proactive engagement with our followers or public posts from the running community \n\tSupport and coordinate campaign launches, always-on postings, giveaways, promotions and other content initiatives on Garmin’s social channels. \n\tHelp monitor and manage our relationships with a robust roster of #GarminAmbassadors, partners and influencers. \n\tShare insights from the community and first-person perspectives to help shape future content initiatives. \n\tContinue to learn and engage with segment around new products, trends and general segment knowledge. Follow key events for the segment and be up to speed with any relevant news\n\tWork collaboratively and communicate professionally with other Garmin associates to achieve departmental and company objectives/goals\n\tDemonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion\n\tExemplifies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s image and culture\n\n\nOther Responsibilities:\n\n\n\tCollaborate with PR, Sponsorships, Media and other key departments to ensure brand cohesion and unified marketing initiatives.\n\tProvide best practices and recommendations to creative leadership and social strategists that position Garmin as best-in-class. \n\tSeek ongoing User-Generated Content for sharing on Garmin channels\n\t \n Education and Experience Required:\n\n\n\tBachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related degree relevant to the essential functions of this job description AND a minimum of 3 years work experience performing a substantially similar role \n\tExperience in digital or social media at an agency or corporate setting\n\tMust demonstrate effective presentation skills\n\tA demonstrated enthusiasm for cycling – road, mountain, gravel, whatever. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate firsthand knowledge of the category and lifestyle and communicate authentically with the audience. \n\tExcellent communicator, both written and verbal\n\tPassion for running \n\tDemonstrate proficient knowledge of social media platforms \n\tExperience posting and commenting from a brand (or verified) account\n\tExperience with native platform engagement (Facebook, Twitter) or through content management tools (Sprinklr, Sprout)\n\tMust be detail-oriented and able to prioritize and work proactively with minimal supervision to achieve deadlines\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
