Garmin Quality Engineering Intern - (Summer 2022 - HQ - Olathe, KS) in Olathe, Kansas

We are seeking a full-time Quality Engineering intern in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for learning and training to perform aspects of quality and reliability, process documentation and checklists, and report results to managemeent under supervision. \n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n\n\tDesign and help implement efficient product flow processes that enhance the productivity and accuracy of product movement\n\tProvide analysis and input on physical layout design of workspace for maximum flexibility and productivity\n\tAnalyze, design and improve methods, functionality, and ergonomics to enhance productivity, reduce fatigue, and insure a safe environment\n\tAnalyze and provide input on traffic flow of product within the production and warehouse systems\n\n\n\n\tDetermine space requirements for various functions and plan or improve production methods including layout, production flow, tooling and production equipment, material, fabrication, assembly methods and staffing requirements\n\tApply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing/distribution requirements and to analyze product or process performance\n\tDesign processes, tools or systems utilizing and applying knowledge of engineering principles\n\tAnalyze new product introduction processes for efficiency and create tools and checklists to improve efficiency of future product launches\n\tAnalyze and model options for global distribution networks and provide recommendations for best options\n\tPrepare reports based on findings and present reports to peers and management\n\n\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\n\n\n\tMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or another related field relevant to the essential functions of this job description\n\tStrong academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)\n\tProficient using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint\n\tMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others\n\tExcellent time management and follow-up skills \n\tSuperior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality\n\tMust be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision\n\tAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment\n\tFluent in statistical analysis \n\n\n
