Garmin Program Manager 2 IT in Olathe, Kansas
We’re seeking a full-time Program Manager 2 for our office in Olathe, KS.
Manages medium and large programs and projects across multiple teams and stakeholders, including planning, management and execution of multiple related projects that are directed toward the same strategic, business or organizational objectives.
Identifies and manages issues at the intersection of multiple projects
Demonstrated capability to be a diplomat, interacting and negotiating with high-level business managers
Ensure resource and projects are established to deliver the desired end state for Garmin.
Delivers program status and summary program information to all levels of the business including the executive level
Determines and organizes IT program and project objectives and requirements
Identifies interdependencies in projects across the department and provides guidance for project management processes and procedures
Derives and executes cross departmental project and program management standardization and improvement efforts
Participate in project definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffs
Develops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creatively
Serves as a mentor to less experienced IT Project Managers and Program Managers
Evaluates workload and available resources and adjusts schedules and priorities as required
Ensures quality project documentation is produced across the program
Motivates and drives accountability of project teams, other project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of programs and projects, including coordination of resources assigned to projects for which he/she is responsible without direct authority
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another substantially similar field AND a minimum of 15 years work experience performing a substantially similar role OR equivilant years of experience
Experience with Infrastructure Cloud technology and running this program (ideal hybrid cloud)
Demonstrates a proven track record in performing work independently with expertise in organizational, problem solving and project management principles
Proven ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment.
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a large team or departmental setting
Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and changing environment
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Demonstrates advanced proficiency in time management, organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
Experience with automated testing tools and testing procedures
Experience with and understanding of web-based concepts and processes
Previous network, security, and/or systems experience
Strong understanding of Infrastructure and Security concepts and processes
Experience successfully coordinating large scale globally based projects to move, add, and/or change aforementioned underlying technologies.
