You’ll load and unload, of course, but you’ll also use a computerized system to track and locate orders and inventory. Mix it up by preparing shipping documents and handling customer orders. Our warehouse is safe and clean because we all work together to maintain our high quality standards.\n\n \n\nWe are looking for a full time Material Handler - Equipment (2nd Shift) at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. Garmin’s Material Handlers work with minimal supervision to operate material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting material with accuracy, while maintaining responsibility for following departmental procedures including FIFO and LIFO policies, ESD guidelines for static sensitive materials and complying with Garmin’s Attendance Policy. In this role, you’ll be responsible for examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking and packing items for storage and/or shipment, while ensuring accuracy of inventory, transactions and material movement and adhering to departmental procedures. Other essential functions include:\n\n\n\n\t\n\tPull and audit material as required for KANBAN, shop order, move order or sales order requirements\n\t\n\t\n\tIssue and transact material requested through material withdrawal forms\n\t\n\t\n\tReceive, transact, and sort inbound material\n\t\n\t\n\tReplenishment of material into primary picking locations. \n\t\n\t\n\tEnsure First in/First Out (FIFO) and Last in/First Out (LIFO) policies are adhered to as defined in departmental procedures\n\t\n\t\n\tFollow Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials\n\t\n\t\n\tPack materials to ensure adequately delivery to internal and external customers\n\t\n\t\n\tMust possess the ability to operate equipment that is design rated for operators 300 pounds or less\n\t\n\n\n\nDue to the amount of resources and expense exhausted in training for this position, a minimum of one year from the start of this position will be required before an associate is eligible for a job transfer. \n\n \n\nThe ability to safely and efficiently operate at least three pieces of motorized material handling equipment such as a turret truck, reach truck, cherry pickers, counter balance and pallet walkies and compliance with procedures and guidelines for reporting safety incidents is a key to this role. Qualified candidates for this role will possess a High School Diploma or GED. Other requirements include: \n\n\n\n\tMust possess a minimum of 1 year previous equipment related experience \n\tMust possess experience and proficiency using computers\n\tRequires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\n\tMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others\n\tMust be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision\n\tAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment\n\tRequires the ability to operate equipment that is design rated for operators 300 pounds or less\n\n\n\nCandidates with an excellent safe operating record are preferred.
