Garmin EBA Operations Manager in Olathe, Kansas
We are hiring for an IT Manager, leading our Global EBA Production Operations team. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of all internally and third-party developed business applications used across Garmin’s global manufacturing, sales, distribution and engineering locations. This leader will carry responsibility for the overall health of our production systems, scale the effectiveness of our daily operations and global support through Garmin’s structured incident management processes and industry best practices. This role will report to the IT Director of Enterprise Business Applications.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n\n\tProvide oversight and lead the Global EBA Production Operations team responsible for end-user and application support to all Garmin locations which operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. \n\tProvide direct leadership, coaching and direction to Application Analysts, Application Developers and the Database Administration Team Lead, Application Administrators and Database Administrators across North America, EMEA and Australia. \n\tAccountable to lead the overall execution of Garmin’s incident management process for a given incident including incident resolution, communication and formal incident reporting. \n\tOperate seamlessly across multiple business and IT stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact for business relations for service-related issues impacting Garmin’s enterprise business applications.\n\tCommunicate business impact for technology issues and ensure appropriate resources are available and engaged.\n\tEnsure the availability, performance, and operational integrity of Garmin’s enterprise business applications.\n\tMonitor operational metrics and key service delivery to identify enhancements, implementation of new services or process changes to drive operational stability and efficiency.\n\tResponsible for reviewing and approving enterprise changes and work with information system owners to ensure solid coordination of IT changes to avoid business disruptions.\n\tEnsure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) are achieved and drive appropriate action to address deficiencies.\n\tDrive accountability across the IT organization by ensuring root cause is identified and preventative measures are implemented in partnership with other peer IT leaders, including Infrastructure, Security, and other Application Technology teams. \n\tDrive continuous improvement initiatives including incident management, problem management, change management and knowledge management.\n\tProvide enterprise class service management practices to strengthen current EBA operations by leveraging industry best practices such as ITIL.\n\tIdentify and drive cost savings opportunities to reduce cost of service and support.\n\tApply formal Systems Development Life Cycle process to assure functionality, security, quality and regulatory compliance of deployed systems\n\tSupport and maintain Garmin’s Enterprise Business Applications to provide secure, efficient, and consistent employee access to company data\n\tWork with IT staff to ensure Garmin’s Enterprise Business Applications comply with existing infrastructure requirements and integrate with security systems, network infrastructure, and other business systems.\n\tMonitor and expand ERP and related software systems as needed to assure adequate security, performance and capacity.\n\tEstablish system support mechanisms to assure Garmin’s Enterprise Business Applications and related systems are available as required.\n\tDepartmental budgeting and resource planning.\n\tRecruit, develop and retain a high performing team including conducting annual performance evaluations.\n\n\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n\n\tAccept and complete IT projects as assigned.\n\tResearch new processes and procedures to enhance software capabilities.\n\tPrioritize projects with Garmin Business Units and allocate appropriate IT resources.\n EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\n\n\n\tBachelor of Science in Computer Science plus 9 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience\n\t5+ years of continuous operations support experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite (R12.2.x); or equivalent ERP, within structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process; of which 3+ years in a leadership role.\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\tExcellent project management skills.\n\n\nDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\n\t3 plus years managing a high-performance work team with responsibility for recruiting, disciplinary actions, terminations, and delivery of performance appraisals.\n\tCertification in a nationally accredited project management discipline (i.e., PMI, PMP, etc.).\n\tExperience with Oracle eBusiness Suite (R12.2.x), Demantra, ASCP, Hyperion, Agile PLM, BluJay Parcel and DSI’s Enterprise Printing Platform.\n\tExperience with Oracle eBusiness suite application tools (e.g. Workflow, Oracle Reports, etc.).\n\tCSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CIRM (Certified Integrated Resource Manager) or equivalent familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning).\n\tExperience with automated testing tools and testing procedures.\n\tExperience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Payment Card Industry (PCI), other general IT compliance requirements and experience with internal and external audit processes.\n\tExperience with advanced reporting tools such as Qlik, Oracle Business Intelligence or other data warehousing tools\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
