If fitness is your passion, we need to catch you!\n\nOur fitness team is looking for a full-time Design Engineering Team Leader to direct and support electrical engineers and technicians at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of an electrical engineering team that is responsible for developing electrical components, products, and systems. Other essential functions include:\n\n\n\tDirectly supervise Engineers and Technicians on the design team with daily observation, assuring appropriate attendance, and providing assistance to team members\n\tWork with Human Resources to address employee relations issues as needed including writing and conducting annual performance evaluations\n\tInterview and hire new associates as directed by engineering management\n\tMentor and train new associates in the arts of Electrical Engineering and project management\n\tParticipate in design reviews, assuring proper attendees and proper coverage of topics, imparting lessons learned and good design practices to all that attend\n\tCreate Product Development Plans as directed by engineering management\n\tEnsure the team meets overall design goals in accordance with the product development plan or market requirements\n Qualified candidates possess a Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering OR a minimum of ten years work experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Other requirements include:\n\n\n\tKnowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes and documentation\n\n\n\n\tKnowledge of GARMIN’s product lines and customer needs\n\n\n\n\tBroad technical knowledge and skills in various areas of Electrical Engineering (e.g., analog, digital, RF, and/or DSP)\n\n\n\n\tDetailed knowledge and experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics design, testing and documentation\n\n\n\n\tStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
