Garmin Design Engineer 2 in Olathe, Kansas

We are seeking a full-time Design Engineer 2 for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing moderately complex electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and products.\n\nEssential Functions \n\n\n\tProficiently use troubleshooting and general EE tools (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, schematic design and PCB layout programs, etc.)\n\tMay perform as a technical leader or Project Engineer for small projects or sub projects as part of a greater project, following established procedures\n\tDesign test boards and circuit modifications to test design improvements\n\tSource and analyze appropriate components to meet electrical engineering design needs\n\tTest circuits designed by other engineers and document the test results \n\tFind technical root cause and suggest corrective action for given problems \n\tWork with the factory team to understand design impacts on manufacturability \n\tEstimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments and suggestions on some electrical design aspects in design reviews \n Basic Qualifications \n\n\n\tBachelor’s Degree OR Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience\n\tExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)\n\tDemonstrated ability with application of design standards and procedures to design and develop moderately complex analog, digital and/or RF designs including simulations, schematics, PCB layouts and evaluation\n\tDemonstrated ability with electrical engineering tools \n\tDemonstrated knowledge of design impacts on manufacturability\n\n\nDesired Qualifications \n\n\n\tOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) \n\tPrevious work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
