Garmin Aviation Associate Sales Manager 1 in Olathe, Kansas

This highly motivated professional will be responsible for assisting department Vice President, Directors, and Sales Managers in daily activities required to increase revenues and market share through the sale and support of Garmin products and services. This position will encompass daily interaction with various internal and external stakeholders, as well as being an alternate point of contact for many of our partners. Some travel is required as this individual will assist sales at major tradeshows and periodic regional events, as well as support onsite meetings with customers and industry partners.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n\n\tBusiness & Commercial Aviation Specific:\n\tDemonstrates at least some limited knowledge of the aviation industry and Garmin aviation products.\n\tBecome the recognized alternate Garmin point of contact for customers and partners, initiate follow-up and be a customer advocate for them within our organization \n\tSupport Sales Managers and Directors with development and execution of proposal responses, product margin and program analysis, and contract execution with periodic oversight from management or the team\n\tSupport Sales Managers and Directors with development and execution of marketing memos, customer letters, presentations, business and trade-show/event planning with periodic oversight from management or the team\n\tManage monthly, quarterly, yearly and long-term planning, reporting and forecast tools to facilitate management review and direction\n\tSupport the Director, Business & Commercial Aviation Sales with managing the monthly, quarterly and annual forecast, and provide reports highlighting the changes of forecast data compared to previous revisions\n\tDemonstrates ability to support Sales Managers and Directors with monthly and quarterly sales reports, rebate programs, and shipset tracking \n\n\nOEM Specific:\n\n\n\tDemonstrates at least some limited knowledge of the aviation industry and Garmin aviation products.\n\tBecome the recognized alternate Garmin point of contact for OEM partners and be a customer advocate for them within our organization \n\tSupport Sales Managers and Directors with development and execution of proposal responses, product margin and program analysis, and contract execution with periodic oversight from management or the team\n\tDemonstrates ability to support Sales Managers and Directors by producing monthly and quarterly sales reports, rebate programs, and shipset tracking \n\tManage monthly, quarterly, yearly and long-term planning tools to facilitate management review and direction\n\tSupport the Director, OEM Sales with managing the monthly, quarterly and annual OEM forecast, and provide reports highlighting the changes of forecast data compared to previous revisions\n\tWrites template pricing letters for the OEM Sales team to adjust for their respective OEM’s, so Garmin can provide a consistent commercial message\n\n\nAftermarket Specific:\n\n\n\tDemonstrates at least some limited knowledge of the aviation industry and Garmin aviation products.\n\tBecome the recognized alternate Garmin point of contact for Dealer partners, initiate follow-up and be a customer advocate for them within our organization \n\tSupport Sales Managers and Directors with development and execution of marketing memos, presentations, business and trade-show/event planning with periodic oversight from management or the team\n\tAssists with the development and execution of marketing, advertising and promotional activities\n\tAssist in developing, then managing dealer incentives and programs\n\tWorks with all necessary departments on new product introduction, including pricing and marketing efforts, and. Monitors that special requirements for the aviation group are implemented/adhered to.\n\tAssist in developing well-organized and impactful webinar schedule, as well as managing content for webinars\n\tAssists with the timely management and facilitation of accurate and engaging responses for the Aviation Sales email inbox with periodic oversight. \n\tDemonstrates ability to support Sales Managers and Directors with monthly and quarterly sales reports, rebate programs, and shipset tracking \n\tSupport the Director, Manager with updating the monthly, quarterly and annual Aftermarket forecast with regular oversight, and provide reports highlighting the changes of forecast data compared to previous revisions\n\tFacilitates regular changes to the Price List and Marketing Program booklet\n\n\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n\n\tBuilds and presents product presentations demonstrating basic knowledge of Garmin products and showing a good level of comfort presenting in front of customers\n\tDemonstrates ability to provide timely trip notes after customer visits with a good level of detail; submits weekly reports with the appropriate detail and on time\n\tBe the recognized “Point Person” for major trade shows owning the coordination and preparation for those designated shows; also assist the sales team in preparing for smaller regional shows\n\tCultivate successful internal and external customer relationships that focus on mutual benefit, maximizing the partnership potential, and driving to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations \n\tParticipate in trade shows to demonstrate products and articulate competitive benefits of Garmin products and systems\n\tIdentify opportunities for expanding our product line to serve customer needs \n\tContribute customer, market, and product knowledge to internal cross-functional teams\n\tWork with all necessary departments on new product introduction. Ensure that all special requirements for the aviation group are implemented/adhered to\n\tRemain current with regard to changes in policies, procedures and product offerings and continually expand personal technical, system and competitive product knowledge\n\tOccasionally visit Garmin customers and partners with Sales Managers\n\tAssist with special projects as assigned \n\tProject Management as assigned\n\t \n EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\n\n\n\t\n\tBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college / university or 5 years of equivalent field relevant experience for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description \n\t\n\tMinimum of 1 year sales experience \n\tPrivate Pilot (Instrument Rating a plus), aviation technical background, or proficiently demonstrate the ability sell the added benefits of Garmin aviation products to customers\n\tMust demonstrate a proven track record in meeting and achieving goals\n\tMust be team and detail oriented, possess a positive attitude, and a strong passion and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction\n\tAbility to present to large groups \n\tMust have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision\n\tAbility to prioritize, multi-task and stay organized in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\n\tMust possess demonstrated analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered \n\tSuperior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality – must take great pride in the work you produce.\n\tParticular emphasis and expertise using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook\n\tMust possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (25% of time or greater)\n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
