Canadian Tire Financial Analyst Student, Planning (4 months) - Fall 2024 in Oakville, Ontario

What You'll Do

As an Financial Analyst Student on the Planning team, you will participate in all planning and forecasting activities for CTFS. You will interact with CTFS business units and CTC Planning, by assisting and supporting them during plans and forecasts. While in this position, you will be an active participant in supporting the information needs of Senior Management, while gaining a unique understanding of CTFS’ strategy and the related financial implications.

  • Collaborate on financial forecasts, outlooks, and plans for Financial Services.

  • Analyze financial statements and KPIs, offering regular monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc business commentary.

  • Prepare and submit various reports to CTC's planning and budgeting department, including Consolidated and Direct Accountability Income Statements, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, CAPEX, Key Performance Metrics, and Board Reporting.

  • Develop proficiency in PeopleSoft Budgeting and Financials systems.

  • Support financial planning activities, including administering PeopleSoft Budgeting system, conducting testing for software upgrades, and assisting in preparing reports for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

What You Bring

  • C urrently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

  • Previous experience in financial analysis, planning, or budgeting.

  • Pursuing or completed a post-graduate designation (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation.

  • Enthusiastic team player with leadership qualities and initiative.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; skilled in prioritization and time management. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Budgeting, and nVision is an asset.
