LSEG CIAM Solution Architect in Nottingham, United Kingdom

We are looking for a Solution/Technical Architect who has strong experience with Customer Identity and Access Management to join the Shared Technology Architecture organisation based at our Technology Hub in Nottingham, UK.

The AAA service is used by a growing number of Refinitiv products, including the flagship Eikon and Workspace financial information terminals and the Refinitiv Data Platform. The platform manages hundreds of thousands of both human and machine user accounts and their entitlements to various products and data services. The service supports critical business processes by providing interfaces to systems that support sales, onboarding and administration, including customer self-service administration. For these reasons, the AAA service is globally distributed and designed to be highly available and resilient.

You will work with the product management, software development, operations and service/support teams to deliver the new Customer Identity and Access Management service. Your scope will include working with development teams on the software architecture, and with datacentre and cloud teams on infrastructure architecture. You will also work with the product, proposition and development teams to ensure that designs to meet functional requirements are appropriate and compatible with both the technology strategy and non-functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with technical leads in software development and with other architects to develop a solution architecture that meets strict security, data privacy, performance and resiliency requirements and is aligned to the overall target architecture.

  • Ensures the architecture is documented, communicated and understood by the project team. Assist development teams in planning change to deliver the solution architecture.

  • Provides and/or collaborates on design recommendations, application development constructs and integration solutions identifying risks and mitigations.

  • Acts as the subject matter expert for specific technology domains.

  • Resolves a variety of complex problems and technical issues taking a holistic and preventive perspective across systems and technologies.

  • Supports and champions technical change initiatives.

  • Communicates solutions, technical designs through formal and informal means to business unit executives, technology management, peers and development staff, and other colleagues.

  • Collaborates in setting development guidelines.

  • For cloud based projects, ensures consistency with cloud architectural guiding principles for assigned projects

  • Keeps up-to-date with emerging cloud technology trends – open source and cloud vendors such as AWS and Azure

Required Skills/Experience

  • Experience of Identity and Access Management standards (e.g. SAML, OIDC, OAuth).

  • Experience of building solution architectures within AWS and / or Azure.

  • Experience of network design including in cloud environments.

  • Experience building software following cloud native architecture methodologies.

  • Knowledge of container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience of both UNIX and Windows platforms, database technologies and distributed caching solutions.

  • Infrastructure automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Delivery tools.

Additional Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Solution Architecture or Development.

  • Strong understanding of architecting systems for security, availability, performance, cost and resiliency aligned to key standards.

  • Strong issue resolution and conflict resolutions skills.

  • Researches, analyzes and resolves complex problems and issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple levels of technology staff, from various technology and application domains across different geographical locations.

  • Superb communication skills, including effective presentation skills and writing documentation.

  • Demonstrates passion for application security and understanding of security best practices.

  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills to reach binding agreement on architectural decisions for a project

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
