About This Role:
The Senior Events Program Manager is a product leader within the events organization who shapes the strategy, execution, and long-term impact of a portfolio of Forrester’s world-leading events. This individual leads and handles every facet of a Forrester conference — encompassing our attendees’ content experience before, during, and after each event — from theme and concept development to content creation, special program development, and onsite execution and delivery and post-event wrap-up. This role collaborates on the experiential strategy for a conference portfolio, creating impactful networking; entertainment; and other related experiences for event attendees, speakers, and sponsors.
Lead the event program team for your portfolio. Oversee and execute the planning, build, and delivery of your events.
Partner with key stakeholders in the event ecosystem to understand and meet their expectations for the events.
Develop and document new business processes for any aspect of an event — from early preplanning to onsite experiences.
Deploy operating models for existing or new event production and program management processes confidently and clearly.
Lead a client advisory board in your portfolio. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis that ensures your events align to target market needs and expectations.
Create marketing and brand positioning for portfolios, providing guidance and strategy to marketing colleagues continually in event lifecycle.
Understand and have command of the competitive landscape for your portfolio, both events and related such as consultancies, associations, etc., leveraging competitive insight to adjust planned event execution.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the subjects, both in Forrester and external sources of content, as well first-hand expertise aligned to their portfolio. Understand the roles/personas our business serves and how it aligns with Forrester’s research portfolio.
Create new products, special programs, content formats, or influence/guide revenue-generating teams to impact P&L performance and ensure achievement of revenue and contribution goals.
Build partnerships, and strategically influence collaborators — both internally with key stakeholders (group research directors or marketing leads) and externally (potential content providers such as consultants or associations).
Provide ongoing insight on the portfolio’s progress to key executive stakeholders.
Eight-plus years’ experience in B2B events management/strategy functions, preferably in corporate conferences/events industry.
Experience with large, multiday conferences.
Command of business process and event planning templates; the ability to adjust or create new repeatable business processes as needed.
Background in managing matrixed/virtual teams of colleagues from C-suite to entry-level across the organization to execute portfolio plans.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with event management systems is a plus.
Process and project management skills.
Effective work with a team in a fast-paced learning environment.
Autonomy in handling multiple projects and own time.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
The willingness to travel annually between Forrester offices and to select events approximately 15% of the time.
