CVS Health Clinical Liaison in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Description

The Behavioral Health Clinical Liaison supports the state Medicaid plan by outreaching members, interfacing with behavioral health providers, and being the subject matter expert for their region. A primary duty in this role is the clinical management of mental health services and ARTS benefits through the utilization management process. Incumbent also provides a consultative function regarding behavioral health issues to care management team. Position facilitates training on topical behavioral health issues to member facing staff at plan.This position is a leader who may participate in local, regional and state level stakeholder meetings. Position serves a variety of functions in the plan including as subject matter expert, consultative to care management staff, and participation in stakeholder meetings.There will be some travel within the service area, generally less than 10%.

Required Qualifications

3+ years community mental health work experience required3+ years of experience serving chronically ill populations with mental health and Substance Use Disorders requiredMust possess an unrestricted and active state of Virginia license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP)Must be a Virginia ResidentMust possess a clean driving record, valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation for field work

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Preferred Qualifications

Managed care work experienceDemonstrated ability to form and maintain collaborative working relationships with community based mental health providersKnowledge of Virginia Department of Medical Assistance (DMAS) regulations related to behavioral health and substance use servicesPrior experience providing behavioral health trainingBehavioral Health care coordination and/or care management preferred


Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Human Services.
