March of Dimes Canada PSW/Support Service Attendant/Health Care Aide - (FT) – St. Catharines - Wellness Supportive Living Program in Niagara, Ontario

Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

This Opportunity

We are currently looking to fill Full-Time Positions as a PSW/Support Service Attendant/Health Care Aide in the Niagara Region.

  • Position: Varying hours

  • Starting Wage: $19.52 per hour, with paid travel time and mileage

  • Wage Enhancement: Eligible for the $3.00 per hour temporary wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients

  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle

Duties Include:

  • Assisting consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

  • Personal care

  • Dressing/Grooming

  • Rising/Retiring

  • Incontinence care (upon training)

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Range of motion exercises

  • Light housekeeping duties

  • Lifts and Transfers (upon training)

  • Performing duties in a professional manner, respecting the dignity and right to privacy while maintaining consumer and staff health and safety

  • Working multiple shifts (workdays, evenings, midnights, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations throughout the Niagara Region

Background / Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

  • Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver is an asset but not required

  • Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Physical Demands Self-Analysis required upon hire

  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours

  • Required: Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle
