It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely 100% of the time and will share a hoteling workspace if/when working onsite, as determined by business needs. The incumbent can work remotely from anywhere in the United States, though quarterly trips to Omaha are expected Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

About this Role:

As part of the FNBO Core Banking Team/Squad, you will be a key part of a team specializing in the design of account origination for loans and deposit across key channels including self-serve mobile, web, branch, customer care, IVR, etc. in order drive bank growth and customer success. We are looking for a strong leader who can successfully develop and execute new Core Banking initiatives.

The Product Owner, Core Banking will oversee the prioritization, implementation, and analysis of complex, high-profile projects, guided by a roadmap crafted by the product manager for execution in a highly motivated team/squad. The Product Owner manages the prioritization and backlog while acting as a liaison to internal key stakeholders, gathering concepts and requirements for the evolving backlog. The Product Owner possess an in-depth knowledge of the vision, goals and desired objectives and acts as the first authority for decisions regarding business value and functionality for all the work done by the team.

The team/squad will have accountability for implementation and ongoing growth of the origination platform, Foundation platform, Touchpoint Teller and servicing capabilities. This position is accountable to quickly identify impediments and obstacles and then in, partnership with key stakeholders, leadership, and the squad, creates innovative solutions. This role reports to the VP of Core Banking in the Individual Consumer Segment.

Leads execution on an origination roadmap that aligns to Segment priorities. Roadmap includes future enhancements/changes to the product(s) incorporating 12-24 months of prioritized work for the squad. Road map work includes self-service, mobile first banking SaaS provider(s), Foundation system replacement, TouchPoint teller replacement, and Lauritzen Banks.

Responsible for prioritization of the Agile squad’s work and backlog, including technology lifecycle needs; serves as escalation for dependency and conflict resolution.

Maintain ongoing relationships with appropriate vendors to ensure service levels and updates are maintained and delivered as agreed. Daily execution on the SOW work with the squad and vendor to execute on the three-year plan. This includes regular / quarterly updates, etc. from the vendor(s) to ensure that our customers are getting the best customer-led capabilities in a seamless fashion.

Partner with Scrum Master and/or other Product Owners to manage dependencies and manage risks.

Monitor progress and results; recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities; adapt to competing demands and organizational shifts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 5+ years of related experience

  • Experience as a product owner or strong understanding of the banking industry/marketing automation; solid understanding of digital technology stacks and the ability to lead tech/data initiatives

  • Highly organized; able to align a variety of interests and to drive efforts that span across more than one team with the ability to make decisions and priority calls based on currently available information

  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail; experience working on complex, large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests, driving compliance with all deadlines

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Ability to develop and maintain meaningful relationships and trust with partners at peer levels and above; ability to successfully work in teams; strong conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to create and present executive level presentations sharing progress and identifying risks

  • Approaches all work with a sense of urgency to get work completed timely and accurately

  • Ability to quickly learn new skills or technologies and adapt to change

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of related experience, or master’s degree in a related field

  • Experience with CRM / Salesforce Admin work: preferably Salesforce Sales/Service Clouds or Financial Services Cloud, etc.


Compensation range (base pay): $96,800.00-$154,658.00

IMPORTANT - This range is for the primary posting location of: Work at Home - Nebraska

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
